Also, Democratic party politics in MA is so heavily dominated by the state and local party machines that for a complete outsider to win the Democratic primary in a landslide is huge. As I pointed out in my entry, Niraj, a Dem winning the gubernatorial race in bluest MA hasn’t happened in 15 years.

Seems that the white suburbs voted for Patrick at rates that show that MA may actually be ready for a black governer. I was really scared that people would say they would vote for the black man, but not actually do it in the privacy of the polls.
