Well, Here, let me help you: “Frankly,” he [Clarke]said, “I find it outrageous that the president is running for re-election on the grounds that he’s done such great things about terrorism. He ignored it. He ignored terrorism for months, when maybe we could have done something to stop 9/11. Maybe. We’ll never know.”

Marty, I have read Richard Clarke’s Against all Enemies and The Scorpion’s Gate. I have also listened intently to a lot of what he’s said outside of these books and what he’s said before Congress. There is no way that you could have read or listened to Clarke and come away with the stupid assessment you’ve just presented. To test this, I would propose the following contest: I challenge you to find a single criticism of Clinton for which I couldn’t find five equal or greater criticisms of Bush. Care to take my challenge tough guy?

According to a recent Gallup Panel survey, the American public puts the primary blame on Bush rather than Clinton for the fact that bin Laden has not been captured. A majority of Americans say Bush is more to blame (53%), compared with 36% blaming Clinton.

If Clinton’s anti-terror record was “feeble” than what the hell was Bush’s pre 9/11?

[President Bush] did not recall discussing the August 6 report with the Attorney General or whether Rice had done so.[p. 260]

We have found no indication of any further discussion before September 11 among the President and his top advisers of the possibility of a threat of an al Qaeda attack in the United States.

Please- let all Democrats emulate Clinton’s outburst, so we can fact check them to hell.

Did you read the Richard Clarke book he cited yet? Funny how Clarke’s words, writings and interviews don’t really support your boy like you would expect, he having so forcefully referred to it.

And I have to laugh at your “willing to fight toe-to-toe with them” line. (Now THAT’S bipartisanship!) As if the Democrats have been so “holding hands and offering olive branches” to the Republicans all these years.

The Democrats have done nothing but whine, bitch, and obstruct ever since 1994 when they began losing their grip on power, one branch at a time. Fine- be an opposition party, but be sure the people are with you when you do it.
