A Con Sees The Light!

Matt Margolis, creator/owner of BlogsForBush and GOPBloggers asks for bipartisanship

It’s a sad situation when our nation’s intelligence becomes a political weapon. We no longer live in the days where a common enemy breaks down party lines and ushers in a resolved sense of unity where the goal is to win at all costs.

Great, awesome, let us join… oh, wait. This is a conservative writing here. Which means its got to get really stupid in 4… 3… 2… 1…

Democrats have systematically built that wall up with the bricks of partisanship, and painted it with the blood of our soldiers.

That’s right folks, the Republican party that runs the country, cooked the books on pre-war intelligence, refused to form the Dept. of Homeland Security, refused to make any plan for Iraq leading to chaos, and who has smeared any Democrat who has suggested that maybe they don’t have a clue – is absolved!

Matt Margolis, the CULTIST OF THE DAY, opens our eyes to the Glory Of Dear Leader and shows us that while Republicans control everything in DC nowadays and are responsible for the unprecedented partisan atmosphere that colors both domestic and foreign policy — somehow all the bad stuff is the failure of those darn Democrats!

Take a swig from the cup, Margolis, you’ve earned it! Now grab your shroud and your Nikes.

There is only going to be bipartisanship when the Right understands that we are willing and able to fight toe-to-toe with them. There’s nothing we can do about nonsense like the “Path to 9-11,” but I think President Clinton’s beatdown of Chris Wallace is a sign of what’s to come.

Once we’ve reestablished our capacity to inflict damage, you will be amazed by the sincerity of the handshakes between Republicans and Democrats.

  2. Marty says:

Boy Zad- that “Path to 9-11″ thing and shining the light on Clinton’s feeble actions on terrorism and his finger wagging, amazingly ultra defensive, ‘blame the Republicans for his failures’ blow-up with Wallace has really got you guys unnerved, doesn’t it.

Please- let all Democrats emulate Clinton’s outburst, so we can fact check them to hell.

Did you read the Richard Clarke book he cited yet? Funny how Clarke’s words, writings and interviews don’t really support your boy like you would expect, he having so forcefully referred to it.

And I have to laugh at your “willing to fight toe-to-toe with them” line. (Now THAT’S bipartisanship!) As if the Democrats have been so “holding hands and offering olive branches” to the Republicans all these years.

The Democrats have done nothing but whine, bitch, and obstruct ever since 1994 when they began losing their grip on power, one branch at a time. Fine- be an opposition party, but be sure the people are with you when you do it.

Do the polls have you on a high right now? Let’s just see how that all works out for you. Could be good. Could be not so good.

  3. Rex Mundane says:

Do the polls have you on a high right now?

    Um, kinda, yeah.

According to a recent Gallup Panel survey, the American public puts the primary blame on Bush rather than Clinton for the fact that bin Laden has not been captured. A majority of Americans say Bush is more to blame (53%), compared with 36% blaming Clinton.

If Clinton’s anti-terror record was “feeble” than what the hell was Bush’s pre 9/11?
Dec 4 1998 – Clinton gets Warning “Bin Ladin Preparing to Hijack US Aircraft and Other Attacks”; Meeting held that day; Airports put on Maximum Alert; Information shared with CIA, FBI, FAA
Aug 6, 2001 – Bush recieves warning “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US”; valiantly continues sitting on thumbs

From the 9/11 commission report :

[President Bush] did not recall discussing the August 6 report with the Attorney General or whether Rice had done so.[p. 260]

We have found no indication of any further discussion before September 11 among the President and his top advisers of the possibility of a threat of an al Qaeda attack in the United States.

  4. SaveFarris says:

And therein lies the problem Democrats have faced for the last 40 years: They’re more willing to “go toe-to-toe” with Republicans than our nation’s enemies.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that you guys are actively rooting for Osama. It’s just that you’re not willing to do “the dirty work” it takes to get the mission accomplished.

  5. Duros62 says:

Dirty work? Wouldn’t that include capturing or killing OBl and the perpetrators of terror?
    We’re not doing that currently.

A Con Sees the Light…and then shuts it off.

  6. Bill L. says:

Every time I read the trolls comments I have to remind myself that “too stupid to live” is just an expression.

Marty, stop reading Rush. Clinton got it exactly right. There’s this thing called Google out there, you might want to try using it.

Farris, just what mission has Bush accomplished? How is Osama these days? Living large in his Pakistani hide out with Bush’s consent? A big supporter of Bush’s appeasment strategy, are you?

  7. buma says:

What part of the NIE says that invading Iraq is having any of the benefits bush said it would? bush thought the thing was over when he was passengered onto the carrier 42 months ago. There is no way he’d have had that photo-op if he’d had an inkling of what was to come.

  8. z adura says:

Sorry Farris, the Republicans have been playing tough and mean since 1994. That was the point of the Contract on America. This lack of civility will only end when Democrats have power again. It is basic game theory.

Marty, I have read Richard Clarke’s Against all Enemies and The Scorpion’s Gate. I have also listened intently to a lot of what he’s said outside of these books and what he’s said before Congress. There is no way that you could have read or listened to Clarke and come away with the stupid assessment you’ve just presented. To test this, I would propose the following contest: I challenge you to find a single criticism of Clinton for which I couldn’t find five equal or greater criticisms of Bush. Care to take my challenge tough guy?

  9. Rounds77 says:

…Clarke’s words, writings and interviews don’t really support your boy like you would expect” By Marty.

Do his words support your good ole’ boy, Marty? I’d love to know your perception of how Clarke paints Bush concerning this whole matter. Cite me something.

Well, Here, let me help you: “Frankly,” he [Clarke]said, “I find it outrageous that the president is running for re-election on the grounds that he’s done such great things about terrorism. He ignored it. He ignored terrorism for months, when maybe we could have done something to stop 9/11. Maybe. We’ll never know.”
