Clinton Gets It

Look, the only successful national Dem of the last 10 years gets it in droves.

“They rediscover bin Laden every two years right before the election. If you had a business strategy that worked all the time that was premised on scaring the living daylights out of people, you just keep doing it.”

A lot of Dems think the whole game is to just point out Republican tactics, but then they never assert themselves as the alternative. I’m not talking wonkish policy points that nobody cares about, I’m talking about basic gut talking points that assert the Democratic ideal of Defending America while Republicans sell us out.

    5 years and counting and Bush has not been able to catch the Anthrax killer, and
    refuses to release the confiscated Pentagon “crash” tapes.

    When will people realize that 911 was an inside job?

    From a historical perspective, I think it’s interesting to compare the Truman and Eisenhower administrations with what has gone on during the last ten years.

    Truman inherited the complete shambles of Europe left by Roosevelt and his disastrous Yalta agreement. We lost hundreds of thousands of our boys, just to give Europe to Stalin, so he could murder and enslave millions more, and raise the Iron Curtain. Truman had to deal with all of that vis a vis the Marshall Plan and the Berlin Airlift.

    Eisenhower inherited all of that from Truman, including the Russian bomb and Korea. He was forced to spend billions on the Cold War and Americans feared nuclear war at any time. We were certainly not “safer” during the 1950′s.

    But neither president, nor JFK after, pointed fingers and blamed their predecessors or accused successors of screwing up everything they had done.

    Bill Clinton is a disgrace to the office of President.

    That’s because neither president,had a successor who screwed everything up as mightily and undeniably as George W. Bush.

    And here’s a wingnut glossary entry for you: “disgrace to office of President” = “Democrat President”.
