  1. Ian says:

Wow he is a Republican and supports President Bush, no wai!!

  2. Except you won’t get him to ever admit to that, because if he says that – he’ll get his ass kicked.

  3. Ian says:

Yeah, because saying “Bush is my homeboy” is not admitting that.

When you all stop running these campaign ads and actually introduce to us who Ben Cardin really is, let me know, because he has been my Congressman for 20 years and I still don’t know a thing about him.

  4. He said that in 2004, he’d be loathe to say it in 2006. Rep. Cardin is already running ads and detailing his stellar record.

  5. Ian says:

Oh, wow! I found out he is “tough-minded”, an “expert on health care”, a “superb lawmaker”, and the “best choice”.

What am I going to find out tomorrow, that he loves puppies or something?

  6. No, you have to look to your candidate for that sort of banality. Steele has to hide his positions on the real issues of the day because they are far to the right of Marylanders – and you know it.

  7. Ian says:

If anything, Steele is a moderate. Again, we get into the argument of you never being happy. When he’s with Bush, there is something wrong, when he tries to move away from Bush — on some issues — he is doing something wrong.

If you mean ‘far to the right of Marylanders’ because they are too far to the left, yeah, you’re right. Maybe where you live, in the left-wing area near the district, he is far to the left, but around the ‘burbs, we’re content with him.

  8. Actually he’s on the far right, not a moderate but a winger like yourself. He hasn’t moved away from Bush on any issues, unless you think his sneaky “anonymous” interview constitutes a policy shift. Maryland is a left of center state, even out in the far-flung burbs (you speak as if I live in the inner city or something, because as far as you know, thats where all the blacks like). Maryland is 2-1 Democratic registration, and even most of the Republicans here are not on the far right like Bush-Steele.

  9. Ian says:

Yes, because you know the “left-wing area near the district [of Columbia]” is Baltimore city, not Tacoma or anything like that.

You know Oliver has lost an argument when he goes on some tangent, usually about how racist his opponent is.

    Your debating skills are pathetic.

  10. You mean pathetic like the Marylander who can’t spell Takoma Park? Your continued argument that Maryland is Republican-friendly territory is a testament to the echo chamber you all have built up for yourselves.

  11. factcheck says:

Maybe Ian would be better suited to Garrett County than Baltimore. Amazing that a pimply faced teenager living in his parent’s basement knows what Marylanders REALLY believe.

Ian, is English your second language? That’s ok and everything, but seriously your last post is pretty unhinged and incoherent.

  12. Quaker in a Basement says:

he has been my Congressman for 20 years and I still don’t know a thing about him.

Not something you should admit if you want people to think you know anything about politics.

  13. factcheck says:

If it isn’t in a con blast fax, how would he know?

  14. factcheck says:

I saw Steele’s ad defending him against attacks from the “Washington crowd”. Not a bad ad, but something tells me that vilifying the “Washington Crowd” will fall on deaf ears since a major portion of Marylanders depend on Washington for their income. Marylanders are the “Washington crowd”.

  15. Ian says:

You mean pathetic like the Marylander who can’t spell Takoma Park? Your continued argument that Maryland is Republican-friendly territory is a testament to the echo chamber you all have built up for yourselves.

Never said or tried to imply Maryland is a Republican-friendly area. But what does that mean? Since Maryland is left-leaning does that mean we have to have yet another do-nothing politician?

  16. Marty says:

Oh Oliver- your fear is showing again. Getting into a debate over whether a Republican candidate supports a Republican President. Yawn. Too boring to even laugh at your comic stylings this time.
