No Kidding

Polling confirms what Democrats like myself have been saying for (literally) YEARS. But it’s in a poll now, so maybe the Dem establishment will believe it.
unlike in previous years, there are few signs that Republicans come out ahead when Democrats contest them. At this point, the Bush focus on the war and national security is only pumping up his base rather than winning over contested voters or districts. By contrast, when Democrats join this debate and lay out their critique and plans, Democrats win across the broad electorate, particularly among Independents and other swing blocks.

“when Democrats join this debate and lay out their critique and plans”
Polite cough. Indeed. When they join debate and lay out a plan.
More tea, sir? I’ll put an extra log on the fire. Looks like we will be waiting for a while.
I got your plan right here, Sparky.
Yeah, simply saying “I can’t see it” when Dems have laid out concrete proposals just doesnt work.
I know of no Democratic plan with specific proposals to fight the WOT. generalities like kill Bin Laden, fund first responders, secure our ports, ain’t a plan. It is empty, specific-less rhetoric. Quaker refers to the bipartisan bill just passed.
Dugger, Murtha DID lay out a specific plan: to fight all those terrorists in Okinawa.

I don’t know, the language is just about as broad as the language the CiC used for his “National Strategy for Victory in Iraq.”
We’re going to win there by boosting the economy, training Iraqi soldiers, and fighting terrorists.
Yes, that is a plan. Unless you want actual blueprints and military diagrams, that’s a plan.
Well, Nimmer, the ports are secure, and we are funding first responders. And I know this will sound like a mind-numbed Bushbot, but I expect if our military could pinpoint OBL’s location, we would try and kill him. Now, I know you personally seem to have inside knowledge on OBLs whreabouts that the world doesn’t have, but unless you intend on imparting this knowledge to a Democratic presidential candidate and he/she will bypass the US and international legal systems to deny OBL a fair trial before (he hopes) a Clinton judge, and kill him outright, it sounds to me like the Democratic plan is -well- nothing. Stuff that is already being done. Though, we do know you would pull out of Iraq right away and hand the Ts a mjor victory.
See, as long as you’re starting from the fallacy that pulling out of Iraq is giving the terrorists a victory, you’re never going to get the idea.
Gee, Dugger, what’s the Republican plan? 5 years after 9/11, terrorism and Al-Queda still exist and show no sign of waning. Great plan!
