Honestly, Clark would probably do pretty well in the South--in Alabama, at least, they think enough of him to have named a street after him.

Plus, he can't really be easily skewered as "weak on defense" since he's a retired general, former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO, and first in his class at West Point.

As to his stance on the issues, I don't know; however, I know that he is probably not weak in the same way as other candidates may be.

Dugger,
Its all very amusing but for someone who normally goes above the fray, your comment shows your uninformed and did not read Oliver's link. Your generalization falls short: Honda Accord, I read the Economist and Guitar World and I couldn't drink YooHoo because I am lactose intolerant:(. Rather than look for ANOTHER figure-head I am too worried about supporting a substantive candidate. Since we are on generalizations I am guessing(if you are in Atlanta, as I am) that you drive a Lexus or Land Rover, you read the National Review, listen to Boortz and sip chai lattes.(Conservatives are just a fru-fru in ATL)

WW,

Your support for Gen Clark is really admirable. In a time when nobody else knows he's there, you are unwavering. BTW, do you drive an AMC Pacer, read Look magazine and sip YooHoo?

Go figure:0 My brother in law really thinks that Republicans will vote for anyone as long as there is an (R) but believes Newt Gingrich is somehow better than Huckabee. As I have mentioned MANY times to Oliver(not a Clark believer), Wes Clark is a candidate that can win ANYWHERE and has actual solutions to our problem. Knowing the Democrats, they will go for a face (Clinton) and won't do ANYTHING to rock the boat. At least our next president will be a step up from mental retarted, unless George "that noose is for a western scene" Allen gets elected, in which case I will move to Antartica.
