Medicare Ads Paid by Drug Industry
The pharmaceutical industry quietly footed the bill for at least part of a recent multimillion-dollar ad campaign praising lawmakers who support the new Medicare prescription drug benefit, according to political officials.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce claims credit for the ads, although a spokesman refused repeatedly to say whether it had received any funds from the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America.
Several campaign strategists not involved in the ad campaign said no legal issues were raised by the pharmaceutical industry’s involvement. In political terms, though, the disclosure is likely to embolden Democratic critics of the Medicare drug program, who charge it amounts to a Republican-engineered windfall for drug companies.
I’m not sure how many people have been stupid enough to believe the badly designed and executed prescription program was created out of Republican “concern” for seniors, but here’s more proof otherwise to add to the pile (via dccc)

To start with: I stumbled across your blog and the first time I read you I thought you were okay but, nothing more. Must have been an off day because I decided to keep reading for a week and now I am totally hooked. You are one of the best.
Second, as for part B, my mom smelled a scam and never signed up. Nothing happened. she still gets everything the same as always but, she is not faced with the doughnut hole like the others.
that deal of you have to sign up or else was another infamous Bushie scare tactic. Are we surprised?
anyway, anyone know any seniors, please tell them they don’t have to sign up and get scammed. and they won’t loose thier medicare benefits if they don’t sign up.
Only a friggin’ democrat would complain about a government hand-out.
