Year Of The Black Republican: Swann Dive
Tweet
Keep it up guys!
Former Pittsburgh Steelers star Lynn Swann didn’t put so much as a dent in Gov. Ed Rendell’s lead among Pennsylvania voters over the past two months, despite his stepped-up campaign in the race for governor, a new poll released Wednesday shows.
Rendell led Swann 54 percent to 34 percent in the latest Quinnipiac University poll of registered voters, little change from a June poll that found the former Philadelphia mayor leading Swann 55 percent to 31 percent.

Yeah, it has to be proof of a wholesale rejection of black Republicans, because Pennsylvanians NEVER re-elect a governor by double digits.
Well, unless you count Ridge in 1998 (the last time an incumbent was up) or unless you count Casey Sr in 1990 (the time before that)or Thornburgh…..
They’re called facts, Oliver. Learn some.
Wait until the election. He’ll be close to Alan Keyes in Illinois territory.
Republicans are racists and will not vote for a black person.
What about the relentless media hype about the year of the black republicans? Clearly the facts are biased against them.
Oliver – I’m wondering why you expect black people to vote as a monolith? No other group in society is expected to or criticized by “their own” for voting Republican/Democrat. Ever thought about being an individual for a change instead of a pawn that’s taken for granted by a party that has bought your vote based on convincing blacks that they are victims that can’t succeed without their help and entitlements? Rather sad if you ask me.
To Mark – No offense, but you make broad generalizations about Repubs. all being racist. It’s lazy conjecture at best. Several times recently, I’ve heard liberals/minorities make anti-white or anti-semetic statements. You conveniently ignore things like this.
wanting lower taxes doesn’t make someone a racist, nor does wanting to kill terrorists and secure our nations borders, which are the most important issues for Republicans now.
I wonder, how much effort has the NAACP put forth for Lynn Swann’s “advancement” in this race?
Maybe they should just change their name to NAAD – National Association for the Advancement of Democrats – and drop their phony “nonpartisan” racial advancement identity.

Gee, and I thought it was embryo-cicles, flag burning and teh gays.
It doesn’t aid the “advancement” if that candidate fights for everything the NAACP has struggled to end for these many years.
Lynn “Sideline” Swann can pick up another gig. I hear they are thinking of doing another season of “Dancing with the Stars” and they need an Emcee.
He could co-host with OJ.
