A while back I slammed The New Republic for publishing Ramesh Ponnuru, the con who is currently promoting a book slamming the Democrats as “The Party Of Death”. TNR writer/editor/whatever Jason Zengerle emailed me, saying that he thought my reaction was a bit too far gone. So I asked him, would TNR publish The Person Who Shall Not Be Named? She’s called Democrats rapists, terrorists, and called for the murder of supreme court justices. To me, Ponnuru saying Dems are the “party of death” is just the same thing. He said there was a difference, but that clearly TNR wouldn’t publish Coulter.
And then they write an essay defending her.
Joe Lieberman Weekly strikes again. How soon before you guys print your Step-N-Fetchit cover?
I like it when “moderate” conservatives defend her on the basis of her being a “comedian” or “performance artist.” Tells you everything you need to know about their morality.
She says what we’re all thinking! Because we are all callous sociopaths with a terrifyingly casual attitude to major world events.
That’s why she jokes about having liberals killed. She won’t shut up just because the politically correct comedy police tell her to. Her humor is simply self evident! I don’t care who you are, that’s funny!
Democrats should thank Coulter. That shrill harpy is one of a handful of fanatics that keep people like me, Right Leaning Centrists, from becoming radicalized. Sometimes, I hear a sensible policy, and I think “Yeah, that sounds good…” Then someone like Coulter or Hannity starts wailing favorably about the policy, and I immediately re-evaluate how good it might be. Anything the Radical Right endorses is irrevocably suspect.
I don’t know about other moderates, but to be called a comedian, you have to be funny. By the same criteria, Hitler was hy-larious.
