National Review endorses Joe Lieberman. Isn’t that the kind of stuff that got him in trouble in the first place?

What does that mean, if anything at all?
I’m just wondering what position Lamont holds that makes him liberal. Seriously, is it the fact that he stood next to Al Sharpton, because I don’t see it in a single policy position.
Now that I think of it, Anatole, what position makes Al Sharpton liberal?
The fact that he didn’t support the Iraq invasion.
It’s a well-known fact that only Liberals opposed democracy in the Middle East.
How about that Global Warming is a more serious threat than terrorism?
He’s also for gay marriage (not even Kerry would step out on that ledge), which has gone down to flaming defeat every time it’s been put on the ballot.
99% of the rest is standard liberal boilerplate (universal health care, increased spending, abortions for everyone!)
My favorite though is on his Situation on the Middle East page. He spends the first paragraph saying he “unambiguously stands” with our ally Israel. He then goes on in the next paragraph to chide Bush for … unambiguously siding with Israel over Mahmoud Abbas!
Global warming is a more serious threat, idiot. It affects everyone, not just religious zealots.
But, hey, I support democracy in the Middle East! Abso-fucking-lutley! I just think they should come to it on their own and not have it strapped to a bunker buster.
Does that make me an “Extremeist?” *sigh*
1) OH NO NOT UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE PEOPLE MIGHT GET TREATMENT FOR LIFE-THREATENING AILMENTS REGARDLESS OF SOCIAL STANDING AND SLASH OR INCOME IT’S JUST LIKE HITLER OR STALIN OR BOTH
2)
No, no he doesn’t. It’s actually a stretch to read what he did say that way.
He didn’t say that, he said that Global Warming is a very serious threat, possibly the most serious, possibly not. Honestly, if you’re going to transparently twist people’s words to demonise them, you probably shouldn’t provide links to the real texts. It undermines your argument.
3)
Except in MA.
4)
First, way to dismiss everything else Lamont ever says or has said without actually dealing with any of the content. Second, holy god you don’t really believe that ABORTIONS FOR EVERYONE OMG LIBRULZ WTF line you put in, do you?
So according to ferris, being a liberal means a belief that Americans should have health care regardless of financial status, that gay people should have the same rights as the rest of us, global warming, recognized as a threat by 100% of peer reviewed studies, should be addressed instead of ignored, women should have the right to do what they want with their bodies, and the Iraq war should be ended. Oh, you can add that OBL should be pursued, caught, and brought to justice for his crimes.
Wow, that’s some radical thinking! Call me a liberal then!
Imposed by Judicial Fiat != “ballot”. Try again.
As for duros, all the “100% peer review” studies say it’ll be at least hundreds of years, if that, before we see any catostrophic effects. Islamic jihadism, meanwhile, strikes with little or no warning. If you honestly think Global Warming is a more serious threat, then we aren’t even speaking the same language.
Nimrod,
Godwin.
Does Godwin’s Law apply to sarcastic hypotheticals?
Anyway, Factcheck just put it perfectly, what you really want to do is address that instead of jumping on semantics, statistics, and hair-splitting.
Being a liberal means you believe the goverment should pay for it.
They already do. Lance Bass can go out right NOW and marry any chick he wants, just like me. He just can’t marry a dude. Neither, for that matter, can I.
I guess you discount those “rocket scientists” at NASA, who point out that pointing the finger at human activity may be a bit premature.
Unless they want to protest at an abortion clinic. Then, women have no rights to their body at all!!!
And what if you can’t? Tough luck, I suppose. It’s your own fault for being poor and ill. Pardon me if I can’t get behind that one.
a) that’s the Sun, and b) if you want to claim that Global Warming has no connection whatsoever with human activity you’re either stupid or lying, it’s that simple.
And with those three sentences, you’ve just lost the right to even talk to me. Thank you for your time.
Leave Farris alone. He really, really need this. All the conservative movement has is hate. No ideas that haven’t been shown to be false. No principles it hasn’t repeatedly violated. No leaders who aren’t incompetent or corrupt. Just hate for liberals. Let him foam at the mouth and work himself into a frenzy.
It’s all he’s got, poor thing.
If you poke him, he becomes more entertaining.

Hypothetical time! Let’s restrict a different choice, in this case, religion. Let’s say the only religion allowed by the law was Mormanism. And let’s say you wanted to worship Odin. Would you then accept the following arguement as valid?
“You have the same rights as everyone else. You, just like anyone else, can join your local Morman church and pray once a week. You’re just not allowed to worship the Norse gods of old, just like everyone else is prohibited from doing so.”
I’ll give you a few days for you to contemplate that.
Unless they want to protest at an abortion clinic. Then, women have no rights to their body at all!!!
Who’s stopping them? We only think that the ones that threaten violence are the ones that should be silenced. For, you know, breaking the law.
C’mon Joe. Give it up. You’re about as electable as a rubber mouse. Stop trying to fractionate the Democratic Party and throw your support behind the guy who beat you.
