DeWine Fakes WTC Towers Burning

Nice. Like everything else from the right, another fake.

The controversial video of the burning World Trade Center towers in a television campaign ad for Ohio Sen. Mike DeWine is doctored, U.S. News has learned. The television spot, which has been lambasted by critics as a political exploitation of the Sept. 11, attacks Democrat challenger Rep. Sherrod Brown for being weak on national security.

On the air in major Ohio markets since last Friday, the ad shows the towers, with the south building billowing smoke, which gradually drifts upward. In the video, the north tower, which was struck first on September 11, is undamaged.

“This particular image is impossible,” says W. Gene Corley, a stuctural engineer who led FEMA’s building performance study on the World Trade Center after the 9/11 attacks. Corley reviewed the ad atwww.brownvotes.com for U.S. News. “The north tower was hit first [so] the south tower could not be burning without the North Tower burning.” Corley also says, “the smoke is all wrong.” The day of the attacks, the plumes of ash were drifting to the southeast. “The smoke on 9/11 was never in a halo like that,” Corley says.

hehehe……the wrong tower is burning….he “faked it”.

You who supported photoshopping DeLay for the democrats ad (taken down by the democrats who must have agreed with my criticisms, and not with Paul) are complaining about this?

So would it be better if he used the actual footage? Perhaps his pictures are meant to be “representative” of the sort of treatment we can expect if the democrats get control of our national security?

hehehe& & sort of treatment we can expect if the democrats get control of our national security?

You mean compared to how The Decider and his administration tracked down OBL … LOL …

“I don’t know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don’t care. It’s not that important. It’s not our priority.”
    - G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

“I am truly not that concerned about him.”

damn, my troll repellant has worn off…

  4. Rex Mundane says:

Seems to me its just a natural extension. MSM’s allowed the right to use 9/11 as much as they want, no wonder they figure they own it. And if they own it, whats to stop them from changing it in order to better suit their needs? I mean, you know, aside from objective truth and basic moral decency, but then again theyve never had much truck with either I suppose…

  5. midderpidge says:

DrDoper, it isn’t the troll repellent, you can go back to hating yourself naturally. No excuses.

Talk about weak on National Security! Run an ad that features the most horrific attack on American soil in recent memory while the man responsible for the attack still roams free. Why do Republicans want to hype their national security failings?

  6. Jay C says:

    still roams free

Yeah. Because we know hiding out in caves in the mountains of Pakistan or Afghanistan is a great place to “roam free”

Doesn’t matter anyway. If we captured or killed him tomorrow, the immediate reaction here and elsewhere in bowels of leftdom would be, “It doesn’t matter” and “It doesn’t change anything.”

  7. factcheck says:

Let the record show that Jay C thinks it “doesn’t matter” if OBL, who killed 3,000 Americans, is brought to justice.

    Wow.

  8. drpedro says:

it matters less that he be brought to justice than that he is unable to execute any more successful attacks against targets in the US.

He’ll get caught eventually, who knows, maybe in aug or sept eh?

  9. Jay C says:

Let the record show that Jay C thinks it doesn t matter if OBL, who killed 3,000 Americans, is brought to justice.

No, nitwit. If you’re reading comprehension skills improved somewhat, you’d realize that my “doesn’t matter” comment was directed at your ilk. IE, it “doesn’t matter” to you that he’s caught or not. If he’s not captured or killed, you get to say, “How come Bush hasn’t gotten OBL yet?” and if he were captured or killed, you’d come with “It doesn’t matter” or “It doesn’t change anything.”

You’re now the official advisor to the decider?

  11. Nimrod Gently says:

I think, Jay, that Fact knew what you meant, he was just winding you up.

Also you’re wrong, if OBL was ever captured I doubt anyone, however Liberal, would claim it changes nothing. That would just be dumb.

Back on topic, that advert is actually a good campaign ad for Sherrod Brown. I’d vote for him based on what it says, both about Brown, and about how DeWine is the kind of person who tends to scream “LOL 9/11″ when he’s in a tough corner.

  12. factcheck says:

Jay, it matters very much to me whether OBL is caught. What I wonder is why it doesn’t matter to your president that someone who killed 3,000 Americans is on the loose. I want him to pay for his crimes. Why don’t conservatives?

  13. duros62 says:

    Jay
Let me just borrow from Roni about who it does and doesn’t matter to, m’k?

I don t know where bin Laden is.
I have no idea and really don t care. It s not that important. It s not our priority.

    - G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

I don’t want to hear you say that crap about your predictions of a liberal reaction again.

  14. factcheck says:

It’s also interesting to see how Jay and his “ilk” view catching OBL through the prism of how it will help their leader and how the dreaded liberals will react.

I would just be happy for this country. Sort of unhappy it took 5 years, but happy that a brutal terrorist has been brought to justice.

It’s kind of funny how cons say OBL doesn’t matter. OBL’s good health is giving comfort to terrorists all around the world who see that there is no consequence to attacking the US.

  15. drpedro says:

    duros, factcheck….

do you believe in the policy of containment?

  16. Rounds77 says:

Jay C “Because we know hiding out in caves in the mountains of Pakistan or Afghanistan is a great place to roam free ”

How do you know where he is? He could be in Arizona for all we know. And, yes, he is free. Unjailed. Unconvicted. Untied up. Unencumbered. Free.

Every time I hear the right give Bush a pass for letting Osama go, I try to imagine what their reaction would be had a Democratic president done the same thing. Freakin’ hypocrates!

  17. doug r says:

The Real 9/11 wasn’t enough. They had to create ANOTHER.

do you believe in the policy of containment?

Is that similar to The Decider’s ‘plainspokeness’?

  19. duros62 says:

    Pedro
I think “containment” is what we had with Saddam since 1991.
In OBL’s case, no I don’t. I believe his ass needs to get toasted.
I also believe he is still alive at the behest of his father and GWB’s father.
