You Gotta Wonder

If you’re talking about funders of political movements, what happened to all those front-page articles about Scaife, Coors, Olin and the wealthy men and women who fund the modern con movement? Also the article says Media Matters looks for “conservative bias” in the media. Really? That’s news to me and I’ve worked at the place for two years.

I’ll quote:

Media Matters for America is a Web-based, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media.

It as if the Post is demonstrating the need for such a watchdog, right there.

Funny how that works, eh?

    Already did.

    Where’s that delete key?

  2. scratch says:

Do you have examples of liberal misinformation uncovered by Media Matters?

By the by, good job missing the whole point of the article. The news isn’t that there’s a small group of mega-gazillionaires that want to fund a political ideology. The news is they want to keep it secret.

  4. Read the mission again smartypants.

  5. SaveFarris says:

More of that stupid conservative bias, courtesy of the MSM.

Piracy is very dangerous business, so I’m glad Oliver was able to remind us of Entertainment Weekly’s condoning of this lifestyle. It’s sad that you wan’t to ignore it SaveFarris.

To this discussion I think I only need add the latest XQUZYPHYR & Overboard cartoon.

Uh, take a look at that picture. They’re trying so hard to turn Al Gore into Jack Bauer, they’re popping at the seams.

It’s not just “a report on Al Gore’s movie”. It’s a propaganda puff piece, pure and simple.

PS. Nice sneaking in a strawman!

  9. EW reports on Al Gore’s movie and somehow this is biased? Like, they should pretend the movie doesn’t exist? Was last week’s cover with Johnny Depp an endorsement of the pirate lifestyle? Sheesh.

Sweetened fanciful Moses… okay, I want to make sure I follow this, I want to make sure that, in my reiteration of what I percieve your point to be I do now exaggerate or go to any length to make your point seem any more or any less ridiculous than it may be considered to be on its face alone.
Entertainment weekly, in its position as propaganda arm for the left wing, has done a puff piece (in stark contrast to its hard hitting expose’s on Bennifer and Brangelina and suchlike) on Al Gore, under the guise of commenting on what people might percieve as newsworthy due to the success of his documentary, when in fact they are doing it simply to promote the left wing agenda, even though the article doesnt really address any liberal political point(unless addressing any environmental concerns has become itself liberal) and furthermore, have photographed him in a forest next to a monkey to make him look like the fictional TV hero Jack Bauer, who is known to spend time in the jungle with monkeys I presume?

  11. BD says:

unless addressing any environmental concerns has become itself liberal

I wonder, I really do. The last Bush statement on environmental topics was some mealy-mouthed statement about how working to regulate emissions would hurt the economy.

Why do the Bush conservatives presume that the economy will matter if the earth doesn’t survive?

  12. roche says:

    Wait…

Al Gore as Jack Bauer? Given Bauer’s propensity for torture, the “hero” of 24 would pretty much be square in the Republican camp.
