DC, you may find it so, but I dont think it’s “humorous” that politicians, including democrats, voted for a “blank check” resolution that supposedly endorsed a military action based on lies, or many on as your side would like to portray it, “bad intelligence”. Notice also how Bush repeatedly interrupts Blair who is making that point that simply sending Rice to the Middle East will not be enough. Blair is suggesting that the proper groundwork has to be laid because if you send Rice, failure is not an option. You’re witnessing a failure of a president, who is the product of a failure of a political movement, which is the product of a failed ideology.

You’d think it wouldn’t have been such a surprise, given his administration’s comfort level with wiretapping of other peoples’ private moments.

What I am concerned about is the depth of thinking that this reflects in this man, “Boy we could have peace if all them bad guys would stop doing shit!” It’s Middle East foreign policy courtesy of Earl, the gas station attendant, and underscores why we’re in the shit we’re in with respect to foreign policy everywhere.

Um, that’s exaclty why this is news. It’s news because it’s the president being caught in a supposedly unguarded moment. Doesn’t matter that the president said “shit,” although that certainly spices it up. He could have been swapping potato salad recipes with Blair and the networks would still been all over it.

The President saying the word “shit” is not news, especially given that he believed the mics were not on and he was having a private word with PM Blair. Not the kind that demands the kind of coverage they’ve given it, especially with all that is going on.

What the hell does the President saying, “…to stop doing this shit” in reference to Hezbollah in what he believed was a private moment, have to do with civil discourse?

Like all such conflicts, the gray area is far larger than the black and the white.

Although it is kind of humourous that the headline is under a giant “Breaking News” banner like it’s the end of the world of something. I think I could see the outrage if he came out to a televised press conference and was like “Shut the f- up you f-er’s”, but this wasn’t exactly a public press conference or anything.

Note to the left from a concerned voter: I’d kind of like to have a some Democrats in power again, could you please stop obsessing on every little thing President Bush does and start focusing on how to fix things? Thanks a bunch!
