drpedro:

Certainly, Bush is not eligible to run for office again. However, a significant number of officials (many or most of whom are Republican) are.

As such, when they see that Bush is not particularly popular, they may feel that it is not to their good fortune to be closely tied to him. Thus, the implementation of his agenda could become significantly more difficult.

(Of course, politics is not my strong suit, so I'm certainly open to the possibility that I am likely wrong.)

Frank has no time for books or factual substantiation. He s too busy posting incessantly here. Sort of like the toothless, blind hound dog who barks from the safety of his shady porch at the passing cars.

I didn't write a book about Kansas.
Living there doesn't make him an expert.
How long would it take you to write a book about your home state?

Actually, I tend to agree with Thomas Frank about why the conservatives can't shut up about the liberal MSM: it feeds into their persecuted martyr complex.

"Damn," they think. "We'd have recreated Eden here on earth if it weren't for the media. Or the Democrats. Or the gays. Or the French." Or whoever. The continued conservative fantasy of perpetual underdoggedness is a hungry beast.

Whale de blanco, what needs to be understood about this whole left-leaning MSM is that the right won't be happy until the news becomes 100% favorable to them. Similar to their whole "activist judges" thing. And similar to their whole power grab thing. They want 100%. If they had their way, this country would have one party rule.

I agree with some conservative ideology, but I hate the way they govern. It verges on gestapo-like.

Frank,
"Hardly ever" is a non-qualatative term to me, but if you provide examples then I could at least discuss this issue, but as Oliver has graciously pointed out that there is research to suggest that the press treats Bush like a spoiled child. I wish the media didn't operate like People magazine, but like the liberal media fallacy(that died 25-30 years ago) your assertion that Bush is some sort of persecuted President is laughable. Nixon, Clinton, and Carter are all laughing how supersoft criticism is in todays media.

Frank, does that mean you see "Stay the Course" as insane? Wow, we have something incommon!

BTW, the Republicans are doing the same thing, as well. Shall we say gay marriage and flag burning, and, possibly, terror alerts.

Did you ever hear the saying, "You can fool some of the people some of the time..." I just hope you can quote it better than your brilliant leader.

Rounds77: Aren't you?

Did you ever hear the saying, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result."

So are the Democratic attempts to take the White House and the Congress.

They've been doing the same thing since 2000, and they make no progress.

Hardly ever? When his popularity was high, anyone who questioned this administration was labeled a traitor (well, they're still labeled that now, it's just that most don't buy that anymore). Now when the administration is questioned, the new label should be "Average American" (see polls).

Why aren't you average Americans anymore Frank and Farris? What special insight do you have that the rest of us don't? After listening to you and your ilk blather endlessly on this web site, I'd say you're mindless Republican robotons who see success where the vast majority of us see abject failure.

Why are you so sure you'll be winners in the fall? You're so disgustingly cocky about a win you haven't even gotten yet.
