Cult Or Not

The press shouldn’t just be regurgitating the administration on the Miami indictment. Perhaps some journalism is in order.

If these incompetent “terrorists” would have blown up the Sears Tower then you would have blamed President Bush. When will you realize that they want to kill us all?

Getting these people off the streets is good news regardless of your party affiliation…

Even calling them terrorists is one hell of a stretch, incompetent or not.
But why would anyone blame bush for such an attack?

And would it be that much of a stretch to consider jihadist’s as a cult?

Maybe it would help if they were more terrifying — you know, sleeveless denims, oily blue jeans, engineer boots.
    Oh, wait! That’s the Hell’s Angels…

How about tons of makeup, especially lipstick, big hair…
    Oh, wait! That’s Helen Thomas…

Cult? Of course it is if we use the classic definition of a set of break away adherents from the common body of the greater politic.

The consciousness of a cause has no color, no distinctive racial characteristic, or any particular profession of belief.

The social structure of this country has change from that of a melting pot to one of marginalization. What gains that were made by any particular group of citizens, regardless of color from the 60s through the early 80s have come under caustic attack and retrenchment by the Angloesque social order dedicated to limitation and domination.

No matter how inept the current conspirators appear, the fact that such a consciousness exist is an indictment of the masters of the system and the hardwired limitations that allow this many individuals enough time and energy to hatch such a plot.

The social flow of what was America, has been dammed, canalized, and diverted so as to exclude as many “marginal” individuals as possible.

When little pockets of humanity are pinched off from the “body politic” they become like an inflamed appendix or a diverticulitis pocket. They are a symptom unto themselves and can poison the rest of the body.

This whole argument of entitlement and accommodation is a smoke screen for the “haves” and have-mores” for their own entitlement and accommodation needs.

These conspirators have become what they are because it is a grand diversion for them from the reality of exclusion.

This current state of affairs is the result of the near successful overhaul of the status quo that was brought to you by the well educated, well financed “white” revolutionaries of the 60s. Those hippy scum have moved on into creative businesses of their own or have chosen to become Neos of some sort.

The American social order is now in the hands of the grand gate keepers. Those gate keepers are tightening the pale. Fortunately, all this is cyclic. The pendulum of justice will continue to swing as it always has.

The discovery of this gang that couldn t shoot straight will now dim the search light for the real bad actors who are still sitting in warehouses, adapting to more sophisticated ways and learning from the mistakes of others.

Interesting post, lantern. Only I hope this country has not digressed to that point. If such were the case and conditions continued to digress, we could become like some third world country, where a wealthy and powerful few control the masses with periodic revolutions.
The Bill of Rights however guarantees freedom of speech and of the press and, if used wisely and guarded judiciously, such a tragic ending to our form of government will not be allowed to occur.

    Thanks for you kind words.

We may see that any thing remotely social or community oriented in the greater sense of the nation has been damned by the reactionaries, right or radical.

The Bill of Rights is under attack and all the supposed protections for the weak and those with otherwise limited resources is dwindling. I came of age in the waning years of the Eisenhower and the ascendancy of Camelot.

I am very much a hawkish liberal on defense. I believe that the more gadgets and high tech widgets that take away from the human element that is vital to over coming any aggressor. Any war making is must be sustained by human involvement and not some overpriced “system”

We can compete in the world arena if we produce world citizens. That means aid to education, real skills, and a nod to research and creative thinking. The pure business model is not going to work. Even the language is stifling. We are being led into a corporate statist bund that is being built on limited access, elitist tyranny and tight social control. The very thing that the rightist and christianist (concept not worthy of capitalization) said they abhor.

I am unapologetic and rabidly democratic in both upper and lower case. The perpetrators of this wannabe Jihadist event could have just as easily been diverted or given other opportunities to occupy their minds. They are only the tip of the iceberg.

    Don t get me started.

    Whatever for?
If you can’t do your own link, you have little to be conceited about, you pretentious windbag. Are you Semanticleo’s conjoined twin, spearated at birth?
