Whenever I point out things about black conservatives, I’m inevitably attacked for being closed-minded. The dissenters say I lash out at black cons because I somehow resent them for “straying off the plantation” and that I fear that blacks may see that conservatism has more to offer them. This, of course, is crap. I point out the fallacies of the black conservative movement because at its core, it is a dishonest movement. Black conservatives are regularly paid off by those who seek to undermine blacks or make alliances with bigots who are just using them to cover. Case in point, check out these quotes:
“Islam is like a virus — it affects the mind — maybe even better as an analogy — it is a cancer that destroys the body it infects… No doctor would hesitate to eliminate cancer cells from the body.”
“Think the liberal press will ever let out that these 2 were lovers — typical Islamic boy-buggering — older man, younger man — black Muslims? I doubt it. Not a pretty picture, but one certain to be hidden by PC media.”
“HELL-ary loves the Arabs so much (kiss, kiss Mrs. Arab*RAT) — wonder how she would look in a Burkha?”
“But the real question is: WHERE IS CHUBBIE CHELSEA [Clinton]?”
“Perfect Liberal — lesbian, self-absorbed, hates America, anxious to impose her values on everybody else. [on Martina Navratilova]“
Who are these quotes from, you may ask? A deranged klansman, some sort of social outcast? No, they are the words of (amongst much more) Jerome Corsi, the discredited co-author of “Unfit for Command” and now co-author with black conservative Republican Kenneth Blackwell in his new book titled (I kid you not) “Rebuilding America: A Prescription for Creating Strong Families, Building the Wealth of Working People, and Ending Welfare“. I wonder if Kenneth Blackwell, who is running for the governorship in Ohio, thinks that “Islam is a virus” like his co-author? I wonder if the media might ask Candidate Blackwell these things? I doubt it.
One of the reasons the media won’t ask your “hard hitting” questions is because they don’t play that McCarthyesque game of yours that “to associate with someone” means you believe all they believe.
The other reason is that, most times, when a book is written “with” somebody, not “and”, then the “with” person provided the writing experience for the content of the “author.”
In other words, it’s about Blackwell, but it’s by Corsi.
Blackwell and Corsi. Just two more self-loathing African-Americans who hate everything that Massa tells them too. No doubt they’re rabid Jeezoids to boot. Their whole worldview is a twisted and sick lie. Pathetic.
What, Blackwell couldn’t co-author yet another worthless conservative screed about “fixing” working families with anyone else? He just happened to find himself forced to work with someone whose lack of moral character he abhors but who happens to be a kick-ass writer/editor/whatever Frank says?
“Gosh, this man is repugnant, but his awesome linguistic skills simply cannot be denied! And they shant! Look at those powerful letters, “Ph.d.” boldly reaching out from the cover and slapping you with their authority! A bigot he may be, but he’s a bigot with a doctorate. Huzza!”
Co-authoring what appears to be a NON-BIOGRAPHICAL book with an openly hostile bigot speaks volumes about Blackwell, not that his efforts to obstruct legal challenges to the Ohio 2004 election results didn’t already say enough.
The McCarthy bit was priceless, though. Which party is it that thinks they have the right to search your phone records to see if you might have spoken with someone who knows someone who might be a member of a terrorist group? You know, a terrorist group like GreenPeace or the Quakers. Which nutcases accused Cindy Sheehan of being co-opted by the far left, accusing her of being unbalanced by the company she keeps? Who thought it would be a good idea to screen CIA agents for party affiliation? Anyone remember the attempts to smear MoveOn.org with the “Hitler” video made by some poster to their ad competition many months ago?
Somebody needs to head out for more kool aid, Frank emptied the bowl.
“hey don t play that McCarthyesque game of yours that to associate with someone means you believe all they believe”
So I’m imagining all that “Carter invited Moore in his box, aiieeeeee!”, right?
Which nutcases accused Cindy Sheehan of being co-opted by the far left, accusing her of being unbalanced by the company she keeps?
Setting aside for a moment the idea that the Anti – War Earth Mother Cindy was exploited by the left, and the fact that she luxuriates in publicity as daffodils do sunshine, there really is no connection between the addlepated Ms. Sheehan and McCarthyism.
So I m imagining all that Carter invited Moore in his box, aiieeeeee! , right?
The answer is, unfortunately, “Yes”, on two counts. First of all, although I’m sure the trusty “truth – diggers” at MM can find instances to the contrary, for the most part, no one said Carter “invited” Moore to the DNC.
Secondly, the issue was the company being kept at the convention with their acceptance.
No one has invited two analogous guests to the RNC. Corsi and Blackwell have simply volunteered to write a book together. Bill L.’s screed to the contrary, these collaborations take place all the time. Usually, I’ve never heard of the “with” person, and I don’t care. I certainly don’t run down their pedigree, and try to slather their current “partner” with the stain of their previous work.
And, I’m certainly not going to do it based on the cherry picked quotes of who knows how many works over who knows how many years.
“The dissenters say I lash out at black cons because I somehow resent them for straying off the plantation ”
I take it the essential irony of this wording escapes them?
“Blackwell and Corsi. Just two more self-loathing African-Americans……”
Corsi is black?
Once again, we see this mythical “black conservative movement.” Of course, I keep explaing to Oliver time and time again that there is no such thing, but he keeps repeating it.
You seriously believe that? Tell me again about the magic hat.
It is interesting that only Democrats are known by the company they keep, but Republicans are allowed to stand on their own.
Blackwell and Corsi? Just acquaintances. Regnery didn’t have any other ghostwriters.
Delay and any RW member of Congress? Hardly know each other.
Abramoff and the right? Jack who?
Ken Lay and the White House? Kenny Who? Didn’t he donate to Ann Richards?
But let a liberal appear on a dais with RW boogie men like Michael Moore or Howard Dean, and they are “cozying up to the radical left wing agenda”.
All I’m looking for is some consistency from the right, that’s all.

[snip]
Yes, that must be why there was a 2000 word essay about the Clinton’s sex life on the front page of the New York Times (which is not linked to here because it is now pay-per-view) which insinuated that (among other things), because the Clenis was hanging out with Belinda Stronach (the slut!), he’s still dogging other women and cheating on his wife.
“no one said Carter invited Moore to the DNC.”
Really?
“No one has invited two analogous guests to the RNC.”
Bush invited Rush Limbaugh to the White House.
“there is no such thing”
Yet, it exists in defiance of your spin!
Corsi is Italian American, not black.
There is no black conservative “movement” to speak of. There are a handful of genuine black conservatives out there. And there are certainly black conservative public figures, many of whom are bankrolled by white conservatives. Blacks may be more conservative than most whites on some issues, like gay marriage. But black conservatism, in its genuine form and outside the cynical Uncle Tomists who grovel for white influence, has always been about iconoclasm. There are a handful of African Americans who genuinely oppose the welfare state because they think it encourages dependancy. They are driven more by annoyance with self-appointed black “leaders” than they are driven by a desire to emulate white conservatives. They speak their minds to other African Americans, not to white conservative audiences with no genuine interest in the welfare of black people.
Change it to
“Carter invited Moore” +DNC
and you get
Your search – “Carter invited Moore” +DNC – did not match any documents.
How many falsified documentaries has Limbaugh produced?
Oliver, explain the difference between the conservative movement and the black conserative movement.
It’s a simple question.
Change it to
Carter invited Moore +DNC
and you get
Your search – Carter invited Moore +DNC – did not match any documents.
Sigh….
Context really is everything. And from the context of the search Oliver provided (which included some prominent bloggers like “Captain Ed”, it’s clear they aren’t talking about Carter inviting Moore to a local sci. fi. convention.
Plus, your searching scheme really sucked. If you were doing serious research, would you seriously give up your search just because of one failed keyword search?
That should be Carter, J.L.
If I were doing serious research, I would only begin with Google…
Ever hear of EBSCO Host?
Sundown: Take another look at Oliver’s phony search, that included things like the second hit, Jonathan W. Moore’s resume, that mentions the paper he’s preparing with Carter, J. Fox.
Sigh…
Don’t tell me about Google.
That should be Carter, J.L.
7 out of 10 hits on the very first page using O.W.s uber simplistic search methodology and Frank labels it “phony.”
Nothing less than 100%, will do, eh?
Oh, and Frank, this is exactly the kind of McCarthyist treatment you are accusing O.W. of practicing when he slams Blackwell for working with Corsi. Sheehan aligns herself with the Left and is accused of being a “tool” and a “raving moonbat.” To quote the article directly,
But don’t let any of these inconvenient observations sway you from your “facts” about the “addlepated” Ms. Sheehan.
Corsi is a lying sack of sh*t. Putting aside the constant stream of bigoted spew erupting from this man’s mouth at every turn, he’s already been taken to task for all his hack-tastic work on “Unfit…”, so why would Blackwell want him to co-write his book (which is not a story about Blackwell by Corsi, which some people have yet to admit)?
I can’t wait to live in a time when being right actually counts for something again.
Oliver, explain the difference between the conservative movement and the black conserative movement.
It s a simple question.
The black con movement is a subgroup of larger conservatism, attempting to put a black face on right-wingery in order to siphon off black voters to the GOP. The problem is, as I’ve noted, is that it is not an organic creation but simply an astroturf campaign ginned up by the same old people on the right.
I didn’t say it was a story about Blackwell by Corsi. There is nothing for me to admit to.
I was referring to the concept of a book being written “with” someone. That someone is merely writing the the other guy’s (Blackwell’s) book for him.
I have never been concerned with who the “ghost writer” is, even if it’s Arthur Schlesinger writing for John F. Kennedy.
I see black cons as part of an even more insidious policy- to normalize institutional racism by cons by getting black cons to endorse it.
How many times have we seen the “I can’t be racist, because a black guy believes the same thing”?
Unfortunately, black cons like Swann and Blackwell are more than willing to do a little softshoe when mainstream cons demand it of them. That is why no black con has any following in the black community.
“Shineing for the man”.Pure and simple.
No “Self Respecting” black man would even be seen with these hate mongers, assholes and powermad assholes.
So along coms some whit guy with a check in his pocket and WHAM all of a sudden there is a new line in a long list of bullshit strawmen bound up in rightwing lies abd bullshit! “Libs are raceist”.
anyone that buys that shit needs not only to have their head checked but removed from the gean poll to save us all the truble of having them take up all the air.
