Steele Runs Away From Bush
Tweet
As unpopular as Bush is nationally, he’s even less popular in the state of Maryland. I don’t believe he’s ever been above 50% here, and is in the twenties currently I believe. But Republicans like Michael Steele have a problem: they need Republican money to run their races. But the Steele campaign apparently realizes that not even the money is worth hanging out with Bush
When President Bush showed up at a Baltimore-Washington International Airport hotel Wednesday night for a fundraiser for the Maryland GOP he found that the party s top-of-the-ticket candidate already had boarded a plane and left town.
Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele, the party s U.S. Senate candidate, joined the list of Republicans who had to be somewhere else when Bush came to town to raise money for the GOP.
Steele, instead, was at a fundraising event in Las Vegas.
Thankfully, we already have photos of Republican Michael Steele with his pal George W. Bush.

A small point, but since Bush was at 90% or so nationally, I’m pretty sure he was above 50% for a while in Maryland.
As low as this guy is, we have to remember how hard he had to work to earn the emnity of the American people.
The guy ain’t stupid. He is running in a majority democratic state. I am sure Bush is completely supportive.
Should be interesting if steele wins though….
As of May 15th, he was at 29% in Maryland.
