How did I know you were talking about him?

  2. cypher says:

You have Vernon Robinson, I have Michael Savage, Arlen Spector, David Horowitz, Michael Ledeen, Roger L Simon and a bunch of his Pajamaline bloggers (including Pamela Atlas or whatever her name is), … This is the cross I bear.

  3. Cyrus the Virus says:

William Jefferson, Marion Barry, Maxine Waters, John Street……Why are black Democrats so embarrassing?

See, anyone can play this game.

  4. Jamey says:

Well, if you ask a typical Republican voter, the answer is, “because they’re black.”

  5. Leroy Brown says:

You think that one’s great, try this:

    http://vernonrobinson.com/media/miller_mariachi.mp3

I can’t decide which is better: the mariachi band or the shocked gasps from the audience.

  6. Leroy Brown says:

I’m personally curious. How exactly does he plan to stop any/all of that? Does he understand how government functions? For pity’s sake, he’s not even running for Senate, where you could feasibly argue he could have a huge impact…

All I can see is him with twin uzis, screaming “I AM THE LAW!!!”

  7. Cyrus the Virus says:

Didn’t watch the ad, actually. I’ve heard of Vernon Robinson before and i think he’s nuts.

The point, which i’m not suprised you missed, is that anyone can cherry-pick some kook and then paint everyone the same.

Now, run along and get in your mommy’s car. You’re gonna be late for school.

Cyrus, just tell us that you liked the ad, that it really spoke to you …

  9. frameone says:

“Now, run along and get in your mommy s car. You re gonna be late for school.”

That’s rich Cyrus. Now tell us what you thought of the ad.

  10. frameone says:

And let me ask you Cyrus, what exactly makes Robinson so nuts? Because the ad indicates that he’s anti-gay, anti-immigrant, anti-abortion, anti-affirmative action and that he prefers the politics of fear. In other words, he supports the radical conservative agenda straight down the line. That makes him nuts? Amen brother.

  11. lordrunningclam says:

Well, to be completely fair, politicians in general are kind of embarrassing. We consistently elect the least self-aware and thoughtful people among us: empty suits whose most complex ideas can be summed up in a sound byte.

  12. Homer says:

Robinson apparently thinks that all you have to do as a Republican is appeal to homophobic and xenophobic bigots. This is actually a pretty smart move on Robinson’s part, because it means his base will be too stupid to hold him accountable if he gets elected.

Of course, it’s not such a smart move if it prevents him from getting elected. Which is what will happen.

  13. Homer says:

Oh, and one other thing: The xeno-/homophobic crowd doesn’t want solutions to these problems. All they want is to feel as though someone is listening to their rants. They want to feel vindicated and justified. If their problems went away, there’d be nothing to be righteous about.

  14. lordrunningclam says:

    Homer:

The interesting thing (to me) is those people hate blacks at least as much as they hate immigrants and only slightly less than they hate gays. I’m not sure exactly which variety of moron you’d have to be to vote for the guy.

    who’s vernon robinson?

  16. Rounds77 says:

Well, if ever proof was needed that bigots have a comfortable home in the Republican fold, here ya’ go!
