He’s No Bill Clinton!

Bush’s approval drops to a record 31% while his disapproval jumps up to 65%.

Only four presidents have scored lower approval ratings since the Gallup Poll began regularly measuring it in the mid-1940s: Harry Truman, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter and the first George Bush. When Nixon, Carter and the elder Bush sank below 35%, they never again registered above 40%.

He’s no Bill Clinton.

Mr. President, Mr. Dubya, what was the best moment of your Presidency?

Why, that time I caught that big fish on my ranch, you ‘member?!

  2. Rheinhard says:

Apparently he’s no Jimmy Carter either.

But hey, he did catch a really big fish!

But it looks like the sumbitch can’t even tell the truth about that!

  3. duros62 says:

    is that kilos or pounds?
But seriously, that’s the best moment of being President of the United States of America?
    Wow. Talk about low expectations.

  4. Frank_D says:

    He’s no Bill Clinton?
All I can say is, “Thank God!”

  5. Rounds77 says:

I’m sure Bill Clinton is saying, “Thank God!” too!

  6. JK says:

    Crusty,

    Did you pass the test?

    JK

  7. Frank_D says:

I was trying to eliminate the bold text, peabrain…

  8. Roni says:

And JK should just know that or accept being called “peabrain” …? What happened to your earlier claim that you really endeavour not to lash out at people unless provoked?

Wait, I remember. Words fail you.

  9. elrod says:

31%! Wow, that’s horrible. I mean, usually when a President hits numbers like that you can point to a particular scandal (Watergate), or a major recession (1978, 1992). Or a particularly unpopular act (Truman firing MacArthur, which drove his approvals down to 22%). In Bush’s case it’s just the sum of a failed Presidency dawning on people. That’s not to say that Carter’s or Bush I’s Presidencies weren’t also failures. It’s just to say that the lowest poll numbers for those Presidents did not necessarily reflect a broad-based disillusionment with the entire Administration. The economy is humming along pretty well right now. There are lots of small-scale scandals but nothing approaching Watergate (at least not legally). Yet, the American people have completely rejected this President. 65% disapprove! Is it all high gas prices? Is it Iraq? Or is it just the utter incompetence of this Administration?

  10. Frank_D says:

And I should just accept being called Crusty ?
Oh, and roni… The word you’re looking for is not “really” — it’s “rarely”.

  11. Roni says:

“Crusty” … a reminder of when you were kicking sand in the sandbox, engaging in an online challenge to JWG to come to Odell Place and force you to move to Australia. You make repetitive, sarcastic references to old posts so why can’t others do the same?

No, Frank, I typed “really” because I meant really. You’re the last person who should be offering up grammar lessons.

  12. Frank_D says:

    Roni, you simpleton…
It wasn’t JWG. And I don’t care what it was — by the way, it was not a reminder of any threat, you idiot. It was a name that that fool JK made up for me, simply because I said that Jimi Hendrix’s rendition of the Star – Spangled Banner bothered me, which, in his befuddled vison, made me old – fashioned, hence “Crusty”, you mindless, babbling buffoon.
And if in your linguistically challenged perspective, “really” was the ‘proper’ word, then you are a semi – literate, mindless, buffoon.
And, if by saying that I am “the last person who should be offering up grammar lessons,” you mean that I make many grammatical errors, then it certainly would be helpful to me (and beneficial to you, as you would look a teeny bit less like the ass you are), if you would point them out.
But, of course, that would require intelligence and education, and, well, you … don’t appear to possess either.

  13. Frank_D says:

JK, will you ever stop trying so hard to be a nicompoop?
I thought I was going to comment on your ridiculous comment, but, it’s inanity is its own rejoinder.
    Australia wouldn’t have you.

  14. JK says:

We ought to ammend the Constitution to invoke a “no confidence” procedure, if the President sucks, such as this one.

It would require a 2/3 majority vote in the House and Senate, and also, the approval of 30 out of 50 of the state legistlatures, in order to pass. (Similar to a constitutional Ammendment.)

If a President can’t get the votes he needs to beat a vote of no-confidence, then it’s time to pull the moving vans up to to 1600 Penn Ave.

Bush would then be free to move to Austrailia, with Crusty, and they could live out a happy life together in the Outback.

Then we’d be stuck with Elmer Fudd.

    JK

  15. Frank_D says:

JK, the whole “Let’s send Frank to Australia” game began with the idea that you were so much smarter than everyone, that it would please you greatly if everyone who was less smart than you would leave the country.
After reading your posts for a while, I’m convinced that there aren’t really very many people in the world less smart than you.
If we were to remove from that group the people who have no desire to go to Australia, we could probably get them on one of those “small” jets that seats about 16 – 24 passengers.
Since there are so many, many, many, people who are smarter than you, and so very, very, very few people who want to go to Australia, I suggest you join them.
I’ll bet you, if we passed the hat around only this blog, we could dig up the price of a ticket for you in no time.
    Don’t leave without this.

  16. Roni says:

‘Atta boy, Frank. You tell him!! Your post clearly demonstrates how much smarter you really are. Just can’t figure out why the rest of us don’t believe it … ? :)

  17. Frank_D says:

Roni: You are a troll of the first order… If I were Oliver, I would have banned you long ago. As far as I know, you have made exactly one comment related to a topic since you got here. You no more speak for anyone else on this blog than the man in the moon.
    Shoo, fly, shoo!

    “As far as I know”
Which isn’t far because you do not know when I got here nor do you know where I’ve made comments.

“If I were Oliver, I would have banned you long ago.”
Hundreds celebrate that you’re not Oliver … and you are the one wondering why your posts are not being published, Frank. :)

  19. Frank_D says:

Enlighten me, O witless one… Which erudite comments have you made? Since I only know of one, perhaps you could point me to another…

And my posts do get published, eventually. My question is why they’re no longer marked “awaiting moderation.”

Your “posts” are probably being published because they lack content, and, therefore, cannot contain offensive content.

I ask again: Why are you here?

I ask again: Why are you here?

I answer again: Because I greatly enjoy the non-Frank_D/drpedro/Dugger posters.

  21. Frank_D says:

And now we know about your “other” posts…
    Still here, Roni?
