First of all, Mercury Zephyr sucks, so no thanks.
Secondly, we could start by, to paraphrase Nathan Arizona, stop looking in the one place we know he ain’t at.
Thirdly, I don’t consider it a very effective Psyops regimen to simply embarass one of the worst enemies of the state. Makes a good sound bite on Fox News, but how does it move the cause along?

First, FM, I noticed the “shift in the meme” from Saddam had nothing to do with terrorists to “Saddam had nothing to do with al Qaeda” to finally (?) “Saddam Hussein … had nothing to do with the September 11th, 2001 hijackers.”
I suppose if (when?) they find a connection between Saddam and the hijackers, the Meme will change to “Saddam never invited the hijackers over to the Palace for ribs and potato salad.”
But I digress.
No other country or ragtag bit of scurrying terrorists can threaten us.
Of course they can — if by threaten, you mean harm Americans at will.
The WTC Twin Towers should have been rebuilt within a a year.
You don’t know NYS / NYC politics…

I’m guessing PsyOps works both ways: on one’s enemies and on one’s … um, er, uh …fellow citizens.

Frank_D, you and I will be arguing over what’s a threat to the United States for-ev-er because we’ll do a fine job of finding media to support our respective conventions and prejudices.

As for me, we’re the sole remaining superpower on the planet. No other country or ragtag bit of scurrying “terrorists” can threaten us… We should have been big enough to take the hit and, like the Pentagon, the WTC Twin Towers should have been rebuilt within a a year. Then we could have, should have, chased down those responsible for the attacks, caught them, prosecuted them, and punished them. And above all, we should have “owned” the situation should we decide to use military power. Instead, our military in Iraq gets hit every day, every single day.

But, my plans don’t matter ‘cuz I’m just a technical writer stuck in a cubicle in the bottom of the Quality Department–but, boy, if I ever get elected president I’ll declare myself emperor and then we get some real work done.

BD-uh, as for the latest total of “uncounted” followers of Zarqawi I think the latest estimates vary from 30,000 to some 200,000 fighters. How many work for Zarqawi? A lot less than either number, and nothing like ‘uncounted’. Typical wingnut rhetoric. To repeat, Oliver’s question is if the guy is such a doofus, and from the video he certainly appears to be, why can’t we catch him? Any answers?

So he can’t shoot. That’s nice. Our soldiers don’t need to worry about getting shot by Zarqawi. They just have to worry about the uncounted numbers of his followers who can shoot. Or can rig an IED. Or can detonate a vest filled with dynamite.

I fail to see how the psyops are going to work against him. I doubt that most of Zarqawi’s or Bin Laden’s minions signed up because they thought he was a crackshot with a SAW. If Zarqawi lost both arms in a battle tomorrow, he’d still have as much influence–and possibly more, if he survived–as he does today, which is far too much.

As has been reported for years now, and recently confirmed, he’s “still on the loose” in part because the US didn’t take itje opportunities to kill him before the Iraq war.

At that time, rather than killing him, it was more convenient to use as an argument for war that Zarqawi running around in non-Saddam controlled northern Iraqi territory.

I’d have thought they wanted to kill him then, when they had a chance. Since they didn’t, why believe they really want to kill him now?
