I’ll say it …
Like father, like son.
I wonder if drunk driving is less funny than, as funny as, or more funny than, Steve Colbert…
Drunk driving is definitely less funny than Steve Colbert.
But you know what’s even less funny than drunk driving? Deceiving your country into waging an illegal war with Iraq. For those of you at home keeping score…
Patrick Kennedy – 0 casualties
George W. Bush – 2400+ casualties
Hey, Roni, you jerk… Look where Oliver put it…
Matty, always ready with the moral equivalence…
What the hell is matter with you, Frank? Putting drunk driving on the same playing field as humor? Would you pose the same question if one of your sons was injured or killed by a drunk driver?
Matty’s always ready with moral equivalence …?!! LOL. Talk about the fucking know it all pot calling the kettle black.
Drunk driver?
Too bad he’s not a Republican. He’d be considered presidential timber.
Would you pose the same question if one of your sons was injured or killed by a drunk driver?
A line that will go down in history as the most tasteless, classless comment in the history of the Internet.
If it were possible, you should be ashamed.
Words fail me.
Frank, are people on this discussion board only legitimate if they do what YOU have done:
(1) Use their proper names; and
(2) Publish their street address in a testosterone-driven challenge to other participants to have their asses whipped around the corner from your apartment because they kicked the shit out of your arguments?
Stay anonymous, you coward, you wretched, evil, creature.
Stay anonymous.
No, roni, they are only legitimate if
1) They possess at least sufficient intelligence to type one comment on one topic, something you, you cowardly freak, have yet to do;
and
2) It is expected that someone posting on this blog would have the taste and the class to leave another commenter’s children “off limits”, something you, you spineless, witless motherless bastard, have failed to do.
p.s. What you say happened did not happen. What did happen was that a commenter made a complete and utter fool of himself by stalking me around this blog, demanding that I go to Australia. I didn’t threatenhim at all. I merely told him where I live, so that if he wanted me to go to Australia, he was welcome to come to my neighborhood and attempt to make it so.
Not only did he not take me up on my offer, but he hasn’t raised the subject of Australia in a long time, perhaps because he, unlike you, was capable of feeling foolish, for taking advantage of this forum to hurt other people.
If you are possessed of even the smallest spark of conscience — and I believe all humans are — you will find other things to do with your time besides harrassing me.
If you are not, then I can rest comfortably, knowing that you will get your comeuppance either in this life or the next, but your day will come, as it does to all of your kind.
Frank, you owe me a new unintentional comedy scale!
What should I avoid while taking Phenergan?
” Use caution when driving … Phenergan may cause dizziness or drowsiness. If you experience dizziness or drowsiness, avoid these activities.
What other drugs will affect Ambien?
” Ambien may increase the effects of other drugs that cause drowsiness, including antihistamines … Tell your doctor about all medicines that you are taking, and do not take any medicine unless your doctor approves.
Good thing he’s nor on this committee!
That’s “for sure” Make no mistake, cellulose. You are a tool.
What I love is how Fox is so careful to avoid a “rush to judgement” in the Duke case and yet here has already said that Kennedy was blind, stinking drunk with no proof whatsoever.
They report, they decide.
Thamks, cellulose, for your input…
I always suspected you were a tool. Now I know dor sure/
What was wrong with that post you deleted (twice), Oliver?
Did I say it was? I said it was on Fox. Which it is. They were the ones talking about the rush to judgement, therefore the comparrison is valid.
Leroy…
Who on Fox said that Kennedy was blind, stinking drunk?
Hannity and Colmes on 5/4. The group spent about 15 minutes speculating on the case and Hannity a) kept saying that Kennedy was intoxicated b) that this was just like a Kennedy and c) just like democrats (ie McKinney). Doesn’t seem too fair and balanced to me. Particulalry since there’s no evidence yet. Now, if he WAS drunk driving, that’s different. But like I said, they made such a big deal over the “rush to judgement” in the case of those poor Duke boys, it seems rather ironic.
LB: Hannity and Colmes is not a news show
And to think that in the Colbert thread, Frank called him a “sadistic bully” because of his comedy routine. Frank, you truly are a pathetic, angry dude. Or is that “meme played out” too?
Another “compassionate liberal” heard from.
All the understanding of simpletons, all the compassion of Huns.
Frank:
1) You’ve never been more clever than you were just now when you claimed to be shocked beyond words. It was a nice moment. Too bad it didn’t last.
2) Someone strike a cord, Frank? It sure seems like someone struck a nerve. This isn’t the best place to discuss whatever went wrong with your kids. You might stop by a scientology booth or something.
3) Don’t you think that maybe, just maybe, the guy stopped mentioning Australia because he relialized that two guys on the internet (you participated, remember), threatening each other is both juvenile and ridiculous?
Mmmk, Frank, dear. Good luck with that. Why don’t you go take your daily pill regimen and go have nap, like a good boy.
BTW, this blog is not mine. It is not about me. I didn’t invite roni or his comments here. I didn’t ask for the comments of cellulose, q-w, or you, TomY.
Perhaps the significance of that has escaped all of you who are inclined to believe that I either deserve this or asked for it.
If you don’t like me, or my opinions, there are a couple of things you can do about it: 1) Disagree with me — and that’s all; 2) Get your own blog, and if / when I show up to comment there, you can ban me; or 3) You can leave me alone.
Since 2) and 3) are highly unlikely, you might consider devoting your time and energy to working on 1).
But, please, please, spare me the gag – inducing snarkiness. It is neither edifying, entertaining, nor educational.
If you’re saying that commentators were commenting, OK, fine…
Maybe Patrick was taking driving lessons from Bill Janklow:
http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/01/22/janklow.sentencing/
Maybe the Tinfoil Hat Brigade will find another scandal in the form of Cynthia Mckinney’s unpaid parking tickets…
q-w: Why don’t you stick your condescending attitude where the sun don’t shine?
Just once, I’d like to hear from a so – called “compassionate liberal”, that isn’t a simpering sarcastic bastard.
It was a nice moment. Too bad it didn t last.
Let me tell you something: I don’t recall “discussing my kids” with anyone. Mentioning the fact that I have children, doesn’t give you, or anyone else, carte blanche to say whatever you want about them.
Contrary to your dime store psychiatry, when a person makes a statement that angers another person, it is not always the “problem” of the angry person to solve. And anger is not a pathology.
Finally, I’m wondering why you called me “dear.” Do you have a crush on me, too, like roni?
Whether or not Kennedy was intoxicated by alcohol or by ambien, he chose to get behind the wheel in that condition. By the grace of God, he’s not being charged with vehicular manslaugther. Wait, he’s a Kennedy, there was never any risk of that happening.
Those of you defending Kennedy, ask yourself if you would be taking the same position if this had happened to Rush Limbaugh. I will state, for the record, that if Limbaugh were to ever be caught driving under the influence of any substance that demonstrably impairs one’s ability to ooperate a vehicle, I would demand the book be thrown at him.

Jay,
Are you serious? Are you actually going to split that hair? Hannity was speaking for FOX. He is employed by them. He is a major figure. Alan Colmes also speaks for them. THAT’S WHY THEY HIRED THEM. They didn’t run the “commentary” banner like they do during BOR’s “Talking Points”, so…
In any case, the comparison is still good since it was Hannity who spent time talking about the “rush to judgement” in the Duke case. He was also the one who talked about Kennedy. He is still a hypocrite. And Fox pays his salary.
There, I’m done. I’ve explained this three times now. Don’t get it? I don’t care. Get someone else to explain it to you.
Did I say it was? I said it was on Fox. Which it is. They were the ones talking about the rush to judgement, therefore the comparrison is valid.
Hey baddest man in the whole damned town, you said it was FOX rushing to judgement. You didn’t say you saw Sean Hannity ON Fox rushing to judgement.
Leroy GMAFB. H&C like Crossfire is a COMMENTARY show. They don’t need to blare that it is commentary, because that’s what it is. Next, just say Sean Hannity. That’s like me saying “CBS said so and so about this person and are being hypocrits about it” only to find out it was some guy on a radio station somewhere that is owned by CBS.
And I don’t see how this is a “rush to judgement.” The guy gets into a wreck at 2:45 in the morning. His speech is slurred, his eyes were red and the cops said he smelled of alcohol. It’s not hard to put 2 and 2 together. The fact that he is a Kennedy is the only reason why he wasn’t out there counting backwards from 100 and doing his ABC’s.
Frank, I’m curious how you were able to ascertain my toolishness before today. That’s actually pretty impressive, since I have like a dozen or two posts here. Do you keep a notepad next to your desk? I would like to see it.
“Cellulose. Might be a tool. Keep an eye out. Lash out at next opportunity.”
You are very perceptive.
Also a waitress at a local pub said she saw him drinking. He claimed he took Ambien. While in the hell would you take a prescription sleeping pill and then hit the highways?
Hey, maybe he’ll clean his act up, get elected governor and become president 20 years later.
Or maybe he’ll try to drive a female friend out to Dike Bridge.
Dugger (OK, that last remark was insensitive)
by the way, Oliver, your web host sucks. Dropped it 4 times today.
No, No, NO. Oliver did. Look at the category Oliver filed this under: “Humor”.
Frank. Close your eyes. Deep breath. Count to ten.
You compared drunk driving to humor. Not since Foster Brooks has that been particularly funny (and even then, not so much), regardless of where Oliver posts it. Some folks took offense to your comparison. Calm down.
Your kids don’t seem to be off limits, you have commented on them before (2 teenage boys, as i remember), at least as long as you are talking about them, right? And now You’re lashing out at everyone who responds to you. So if no one agrees with you, we should just let you talk and not respond?
And on the subject, as a constituent of Kennedy, he don’t impress me much. This is one of many such occurrences and I for one am sick of it. One can only use the “Do you know who I am?” spiel for so long before it gets real old, real fast.
I’ve taken Ambien and can say with authority that I never had the following side-effects:
- odor of alcohol on my person
- loss of memory
- difficulty walking in a straight line and/or falling down
- compulsion to drive instead of sleep
Strangely enough, though, I’ve had 3 out of 4 of those side-effects after nights of boozing and whoring*.
* I’ve never, ever, actually gone whoring. I was taking poetic licence with my own social life, and Kennedies like to whore it up, yo.

Save:
My mistake. Oliver, my reprimand goes to you, then.
Rep. Patrick Kennedy will enter rehab for addiction to prescription pain medication…
Well, that’s a start.
I didn’t know Ambien was a painkiller…
Hey, Pat, they’re saving you a seat!
regardless of where Oliver posts it.
“Regardless”? What did you think I was commenting on?
Some folks took offense to your comparison.
This particular “folk” took offense at some two – bit wanker who hasn’t posted a real comment since he got here [now, if you look up troll, it says 3. Roni], decided to remind me, in his usual offensive fashion, about my children being killed by a drunk driver, mostly because he’s got some love / hate “stalker / obsession” thing going with me; but, secondly, because he, like these “others” who were “offended” wouldn’t dare question The Master Oliver.
Your kids don t seem to be off limits, you have commented on them before.
My kids aren’t off limits, because “I mentioned them”? And I suppose if I told you I was a quadraplegic you could make jokes about my being paralyzed?
Or if I was blind, you could start telling telling Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder jokes?
Do you realize what you are saying?
You saying that you tolerant, compassionate liberals are free to say evil, insensitive and offensive things about me and my children, because I mentioned that I have children!
OK… fine. I have done the best I could to be civil — when humanly possible. When provoked, I strike back. With a few exceptions, I have managed to not be the one who struck first. I almost always simply responded in kind to the nasty, condescending, patronizing, arrogant, wiseass pricks who inhabit these threads.
Since almost everyone single one of you, at one or another, has been a nasty, condescending, patronizing, arrogant, wiseass prick, there is no reason for me to wait to be provoked. I guess I am now free to strike first, as all of you so often do.
If, and most likely, when I am banned (I am sure Oliver is bound to keep on talking like a liberal, long before he ever acts like one, so my days here are numbered), that will leave the field open for you to harrass and harangue someone else in the name of “civil discussion.”
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12634639/
WASHINGTON – Rep. Patrick Kennedy will enter rehab for addiction to prescription pain medication Friday evening after a highly publicized car crash near the Capitol.
Kennedy, D-R.I., plans to seek treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
The congressman was announcing his decision during a new conference Friday afternoon, then planned to travel to Minnesota later in the day.
Here you go, Pat:
http://www.aa-dc.org/meetings.asp?st=DC&d=&format=&special=&type=&subtype=&time=&City=
You saying that you tolerant, compassionate liberals are free to say evil, insensitive and offensive things about me and my children, because I mentioned that I have children!
I must have missed that part.
Frank, I think the posters here would treat you more civilly if you apologized for threatening them with violence. But that’s not on the table, is it? You just dodge the question and blame the other guy. I guess Violent Frank is Violent Frank, and he aint never gonna change.
Yeah, sure, TomY, I hereby apologize to all the posters I threatened with violence… (all two, or is it three, of you)
Now, if you’ll guarantee to keep me alive until I get an apology from all the posters (twenty, or is it thirty?) who have said insulting, offensive, and insensitive things to me, I’ll probably live to be 150!
You compared drunk driving to humor.
No, No, NO. Oliver did. Look at the category Oliver filed this under: Humor .
Ok, I have posted this 3 times. I’ll try again.
Frank, Farris, my mistake. Oliver, not funny.
Would you pose the same question if one of your sons was injured or killed by a drunk driver?
A line that will go down in history as the most tasteless, classless comment in the history of the Internet.
If it were possible, you should be ashamed.
Words fail me.
Is there something we don’t know? It seemed like a hypothetical question. Why did you go all medeival?
BTW, Tommy, look out for that beam in your eye!
Obviously Frank and I love this post, a lot more than say, the post about Porter Goss abruptly resigning. This Kennedy thing is clearly the more important topic.
Yes, beans, you’re right of course. The post aabout Goss resigning is far more interesting.
Except for one thing — it doesn’t exist, sh*thead!
Is there something we don t know?
I must have missed that part.
Yes.
and
Yes, you must have. Maybe someday, you’ll have a child — until then, you can wander around in the dark with roni the wanker. Don’t drop the soap.
Uh, Frank darling:
http://www.oliverwillis.com/2006/05/05/hookers-sounds-like-hookers-i-think-its-hookers/#comments
I thought the post was about hookers…
So, now you’re calling me “Darling”?
Are you gay, too, like that wanker, roni?
Well, it’s all over…
from Daily KOS
Much as I feel for Congressman Kennedy, it’s time for him for his own good and for the good of the Party, to resign with dignity.
Lefties, Forward, Maaarrcchh!
Isn’t this great? I’m being stalked by two (possibly, three – if you count q -w) refugees from Brokeback Mountain: Roni the Wanker and Beans the Brainless …
Is there something we don t know?
I must have missed that part.
Yes. and Yes, you must have. Maybe someday, you ll have a child until then, you can wander around in the dark with roni the wanker. Don t drop the soap.
I do have a child, Frank. There you go again, assuming things about other people for which you have no knowledge. I was trying to be a “compassionate liberal” and try to figure out why you went so ballistic earlier up the page. I have tried to be on your side several times on this post, but you just can’t see that. can you? You have indeed insulted me in the past without provocation.
Never fucking mind.
You rent space in your head far too cheaply, Frank.
Anybody see Ann Coulter on H&C last night? “He’s a Kennedy! Of course he was drunk! His blood is 15 proof!”
Ass.
Funny, duros, because OW’s boss exposed Annthrax Coulter’s diet of “cigarettes and chardonnay”. Must be another case of IOKIYAR.
duros: Let’s say some warped individual has been stalking you around a blog for weeks, never, ever commenting on any topic, but only saying negaytive things about you. He / she / it didn’t even comment negatively about anyone but you.
Suddenly, this pudding headed wanker (roni), waxes all indignant and self – righteously demands to know if you would “pose the same question if one of your sons was injured or killed by a drunk driver?”
What would your reaction be?
And, if you wouldn’t react as I did (nobody says you have to), can you at least understand my reaction?
It took you about 4 posts to get around to “being on my side.”
Better late than never, though.
Frank
Seriously, I don’t understand you think you convey a civil attitude.
You complain about multiple posters ‘ganging up on you’ and it simply does not occur to you that the common denominator IS you? You accuse various posters of being “a nasty, condescending, patronizing, arrogant, wiseass prick” and don’t think for a moment that you prompted the response?
I have been enjoying Oliver’s blog for a long time and, like others, find there are times when YOUR
(1) aggression
(2) ‘I’ve got all the answers’ attitude and
(3) unilateral rules for engaging in conversation
are f**king annoying and cause for response because you’re a bull in a china shop.
In a previous post, you asked frameone why he kept dishing it out. His response? You’re an idiot … because you published your street address to challenge someone in an online argument.
You recommend that: “If you don t like me, or my opinions, there are a couple of things you can do about it: 1) Disagree with me and that s all …” 2) Get your own blog, and if / when I show up to comment there, you can ban me; or 3) You can leave me alone.
The problem, Frank, is that
(1) you’re in a public forum where we don’t give a shit about your groundrules; and
(2) with you, it isn’t a matter of “and that’s all”. You tear the shit out of issues like a pit bull and expect the rest of us to agree with you. When we don’t, YOUR nasty, condescending, patronizing, arrogant, wiseass prick attitude shines through.
And, if you wouldn t react as I did (nobody says you have to), can you at least understand my reaction?
It took you about 4 posts to get around to being on my side.
Better late than never, though.
Not really, no. Your reaction seemed over the top in terms of what you seem to perceive as a personal vendetta. If you’re having a bad day, just say so. Hostility only feeds itself.
And just so we’re clear, I’m not “on your side”, but I’m not against you either.
You have the right to say what you want here, as does everyone else. You also have the right to turn it off.
I worked in restaurant kitchens for 17 years. No matter where it was, there was always a at least one customer who was never happy. They complained about everything. And yet there they were every Saturday night.
If you are so unhappy with the way you get treated, Frank, why , oh why do you keep coming here?
You probably are done with this thread and therefore won’t see this, but there it is. My two cents:
Either calm down or leave.
