Snow The Pacifier

I just started reading Eric Boehlert’s “Lapdogs: How the Press Rolled Over for Bush” (sent to me by the publisher), which comes at an interesting time as Tony Snow makes the lateral shift from Fox News over to the White House. The overwhelming thought is that Snow is there to “fight back” against the press somehow, but in fact I think the danger is in Snow basically chatting it up with his friends. It was bad enough the way that the odiously lying Scott McClellan was called “honest” by members of the press corps (John Roberts of CNN and Dana Milbank of the Washington Post), what now when it’s one of them up there? Carl Cameron will always be a joke, but they’re going to have add whipped cream to his softballs now that his former Fox pal Snow is up at the podium.

“do you think there is a problem with firing someone for leaking information they believe is real?”

Let me guess, ped, you do and you have.

As for lies told by Scot McClellan he has passed along his share of misinformation hasn’t he? Rove and Libby weren’t involved in the leak of Plame’s name? Ya right. Now was McClellan in on the deception or a mere dupe of higher ups? What a choice.

I think if you look up the transcript, you’ll find that McClellan didn’t say that, categorically. He told the reporters that he was told that Rove and Libby weren’t involved.

    Slippery, yes, but also truthful.

  3. Really shrill = you disagree. Sigh. Been hearing that for years now.

Look, McClellan’s whole job is to lie for Bush, something he did regularly. The press simply had to look at his claims and compare them to the facts. They fail at this most basic function, yet if you even hint that Bill Clinton looked at someone funny its a national crisis.

Oliver do you know Scott? Have you ever been briefed by scott?

Can you please demonstrate a lie told by scott?

Why is it that I am supposed to just take a leftist bloggers word for it that professional journalist just can’t seem to decide if someone is honest or not?

Your commentary has really gotten shrill lately….Things ok at work?

  5. frameone says:

    Ahem (Clipboard detritus):

“Oliver do you know Scott? Have you ever been briefed by scott?”

Let me guess, ped, you do and you have.

  6. duros62 says:

Depends on how you define “sky”

  7. drpedro says:

    No Ollie,

Really shrill= not backed by any sort of evidence, and is the cheapest form of ad hominem attack along the lines of “your mother wears combat boots”.

So he is a regular liar…how about some evidence?

You keep saying he does so regularly, and that it is “simple”. How about you showing us why?

Remember in math class? You don’t get credit unless you show your work…

  8. garth says:

pedro, bush’s lies are translated to the press by the press secretary. Bush has lied about:

    Domestic wiretapping
    Uniting, not dividing
    “changing the tone”
    helping the poor
    helping with gas costs
    preserving SS
    helping the military
wether or not we were going to war in Iraq
wether or not he was going to fire the person/people who leaked information in re Plame
    Clean Air.
    Clean Water.
    Toxins in our environment
the disbursement of his tax cuts
giving one god-damn about anyone who is not as wealthy or wealthier than he is

    and on,
    and on,
    and on.

McLelland repeated those lies. are you dim? Are you a tiny baby grasping at mama neocon’s tit? repeating a lie is lying too, you know.

you can find your own references to the above. If you think coming and trolling someone’s comments is a place to have a well-orchestrated airing of facts, you’re an ass. They’re out there, you just can’t see it. you’re an ideological hack who trolls comments. does that make you feel good?

They’re pretty well-documented. and if you want to split hairs over the definition of a lie, well, you’re an ass.

finally, i think you’re an ass.

“You don t get credit unless you show your work& ”

Which reminds me, we’re still waiting for those publishing citations of yours, pedro …

  10. duros62 says:

You guys would want a thirty page report if I said the sky was blue. But start…
    And they’d still disagree.

  11. I’m not going to get bogged down in conservative nonsense of documenting the obvious. You guys would want a thirty page report if I said the sky was blue. But start here

  12. frameone says:

” He told the reporters that he was told that Rove and Libby weren t involved.”

That’s what I meant when I wrote:”Now was McClellan in on the deception or a mere dupe of higher ups?” Rove may not have knowingly lied but he passed on the lies of others as truth. pedro is all offended because of what he perceives as a slight to McLellan’s character. Well, how long has McLellan been on the job since he found out that A) he works for liars and B) The liars thought of him as a convenient dishrag? Wow, what character, what class. McClellan is a scumbag along with the rest of them.

  13. frameone says:

As to your “medical practice” I’ll hold you to your own standard: You don t get credit unless you show your work&

  14. drpedro says:

I get credit every day…from the people that count Paul

  15. frameone says:

    I repeat:

Well, how long has McLellan been on the job since he found out that A) he works for liars and B) The liars thought of him as a convenient dishrag? Wow, what character, what class. McClellan is a scumbag along with the rest of them.

  16. frameone says:

“I get credit every day& from the people that count Paul”

    Of course you do.

  17. duros62 says:

    I get credit every day&

    ..but i’d prefer cash.

  18. buma says:

Unlike Scottie, Snow has a bit of a disadvantage to start off with. When Scottie first took over he had manly Jeff Gannon to grasp on to, at times when the questioning got hard.
