Right Wing Continues With Their Hate Of Hispanics

First Senator Salazar, now CA Lt. Governor Cruz Bustamante and LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa…
L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante, both Hispanic Democrats, have received death threats amid a national debate over immigration policy, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said Monday.
Schwarzenegger told reporters about the threats against Villaraigosa and Bustamante during a news conference in his office Monday.
Other elected officials of Mexican heritage have also received threats, Schwarzenegger said, but he did not name them.
Bustamante spokesman Steve Green said the lieutenant governor appeared at some immigration rallies with Villaraigosa in March and received “nasty e-mails” afterward. The death threat – “The only good Mexican is a dead Mexican” – came about three weeks ago on a postcard, he said.

Sadly, this does not surprise me. Living in southern CA, I hear and see a great deal of racism directed toward people of hispanic descent. Every time the border issue arises, tempers flare and some people become bullies.
Is that it? H*ll, a certain poster here said worse about Rush here not too long ago.
Dugger
I’ll put villairagosa’s “post card” up against Ann Coulter’s, Michelle Malkin or Rush Limbaugh’s hate mail any day.
Hell for that matter, up against Schwarteneggers…..
You guys are wussies….
So the anti-Rush ramblings by a poster on OW’s site is equal to or ‘worse’ than a phoned or written death threat delivered to these California politicians. “Documented” as such by dugger.
And, of course, once again, “Unidentified racists = right wingers”
buma,
Wishing Limbaugh to choke to death on his vomit is a little more than harmless ‘rambling’.
And the other was not a specific death threat. It was an anonynmous single retiteration of a standard but hateful saying which could have been construed as a death threat.
Dugger, Keep it Straight, Lads
Actually, wishing somebody dead–and, for that matter, wishing them dead of their own bodily functions–is exactly harmless rambling.
It’s certainly less incendiary than, say, proposing that somebody put poison in Justice Stevens’ creme brulee.
Which I’m sure no conservative would ever think fo doing.
Seems a very passive kind of death ‘threat’ to wish upon Limbaugh what is an entirely possible route to his demise. A lot of people choked to death on their own vomit. Jim Morrison, for example, Keith Moon. It often results from their own lack of self-control.
BD,
Right BD. In your book, to specifically wish a known individual, a public figure, a violent, painful death is harmless ‘rambling’ ? And hell yeah, if (and when) a conservative did it would be wrong. If a conservative makes death threats its wrong. All I say is we can look on our own doorsteps if we are worried about the problem of violence – rather than California. I’m assunming you are equally concerned about violence directed at those with whom you disagree as well as though with whom you agree.
Dugger
Yes, Dugger, there is a difference between saying “I wish Johnny would die” vs. “I wish somebody would kill Johnny.”
There’s also a difference between saying “I wish he would die in a horrible manner” vs. “I wish somebody would kill him in a horrible manner.”
Death happens to everybody. Murder does not. Sure, the vitriol is still there, but the latter examples above are more irresponsible, spoken out loud.
Hate groups, to use a non-comparative example, do not tell their followers to “wish really hard that the inferior races will just die out.” They tell their followers to make it happen.
Me?
I wish Mr. Limbaugh a very, very long life. One long enough for him to understand the harm he has done to our national discourse. One long enough for him to renounce his attack dog methods. One long enough for him to become a decent human being.
I figure a coupla thousand years oughta cover it.
Jeez, Dugger, let it go already.
Personally I hope a plane that carries Mr. Limbaauuuuggghhh crashes into a train carrying Anne “the Man” Coulter. Both have expressed the desire to see liberals die in horrible ways.
More sauce, Ms. Goose?
BD,
Both are reprehensible. And, OK, wishing someone to die a horrible, painful via murder is only slightly worse than wishing them the same (type) death via natural means.
duros,
You really don’t get it. Why do you want these people to die – to die horribly? Because of their politics? Are you a child? Can you not intelligently debate them or are these childish throw-away lines? Do you know that at least one poster has carried such left wing fantasies out to their ugly end?
Why not cut out the childish violence crap – even rhetorically..
