I wish the single most important issue in my day was being upset about a censored cartoon on a cable channel. Just one of the fringe benefits of being a Republican.
Yup, it’s certainly a far cry from the days when bloggers focused on the really important issues, such as whether a guy with a White House press pass once worked as a male prostitute. Surely the nation was delivered from evil by Daily Kos.
Or when an intern might have given the president a hummer…
Comedy Central was just reflecting the will of the marketplace. The invisible editorial hand strikes again!
We’re all wearing the blue dress now.
Btw, Mike…the difference between Monica and Gannon, is that after Gannon got up off his knees, he went and helped the GOP spin at WH press conferences.
As least Monica had the decency to just go home afterward.
Or when an intern might have given the president a hummer&
Damn Leroy, exposing the hypocrisy of these wingnut trolls is like shooting fish in a barrel, isn’t it? Or maybe it’s like “peppering” caged pheasant, take your pick.
Well, I suppose that for a true political animal like yourself, Oliver, topics like Jessica Alba’s and Beyonce’s asses, or the waste of Maria Bartiromo’s face on radio are more important than pesky little cultural distractions like censorship and dhimmitude.
Good to see your priorities are correctly aligned.
Oh, and let’s not forget Superman movies!
Like Kryptonite, Too Stupid!
Yes, because God knows I’ve done 9 posts in a row on Jessica Alba’s tush. And I haven’t written about Beyonce’s gluteus maximus in eons. Which is not to say that it isn’t awesome.
Dhimmitude? Fucking dhimmitude? Are you serious? Comedy Central shouldn’t be censoring anything but are you seriously concerned this is the first sign of Amrica’s coming subjugation under Sharia law?
It was glorious day in wingnut land when the first cheeto eater came across this big sounding word. “Dhimmitude! Wow, now there’s a word that really makes it sound like my lunatic opinions should be taken seriously.” Total morons.

OMG! They censored South Park! The A-rabs are taking over !!!! Soon our women will be wearing burkas and we’ll all be forced to pray to Mecca!!
It was probably Trey and Matt anyway.
Actually, the point of interest is that the Comedy Channel, which brings you the irreverent Jon Stewart (irreverent because he mocks Republicans / conservatives, and no one else), wimped out on the Mohammed cartoon issue, with regard to a show that has been mocking Jesus since its very beginnings, with such astonishly regularity that one has to wonder what Jesus ever did to them. They also wimped out on the Scientology issue.
But Christians don’t extort Viacom, or burn down MacDonald’s.
I had totally forgotten about the Super Best Friends! They’ve shown Mohammed multiple times! He helped take down giant Abe Lincoln and David Blaine!
The line about liking Family Guy because it’s not preachy and up it’s own ass was great. Trey is not afraid to poke fun at himself at least.
But Christians don t extort Viacom, or burn down MacDonald s.
No, they just boycott.
Yeah, that Dr. King was a real violent man.
Is that the violent boycott you’re talking about, or the peaceful kind, Duros?
Let the man express himself, JWG…
The peaceful kind, Frank the economic kind, where they contact a networks sponsors and say they will no longer buy thier products.
What’s your point?
Some one should tell that to Eric Rudolph.
Seriously though, at least some of the commenter’s in this thread and the linked thread get the joke…
I knew, after my 9:00 comment, Eric Rudolph was coming down the pike. You might have received 10 bonus points, but we had to take them away, because you referenced the World Book Encyclopedia of the Internet WikiPedia.
Better luck next time, but you’ll be taking home our home game of “Cite the Obscure”!
Did Eric Rudolph burn down a MacDonald’s? I’m pretty sure he didn’t extort Viacom. He’s not even in M.I. III
which brings you the irreverent Jon Stewart (irreverent because he mocks Republicans / conservatives, and no one else)
Ever actually watched The Daily Show Frank? Judging from this comment I’d have to say no. Is Jon Stewart unabashadly liberal? Sure. Does he mock Democrats? Often.
