Your questions have been exceedingly vague and off the wall, so I don't see why our answers need to be precise and specific. But here you go:

We all that agree that building needed schools for disadvantaged children - chippewa or otherwise - is a good thing in principle. Whether funding this particular school at this particular time is good is a question that could hinge on a lot of factors: maybe the navajo had a greater need for a new school, for instance, and because Abramoff got the funds diverted the Navajo had to go without. That would be bad.

But let's assume that the chippewa school was the best possible expenditure of those funds. Even in that case, the method by which the funds were allegedly procured was evil and illegal. By criticizing the latter one is not criticizing the former.

An analogy: If John Gotti collects a million bucks in an extortion racket and gives half of it to St. Mary's orphanage has Gotti done anything wrong? If you say yes, then I could demand to know what you've got against orphans - I could, that is, if I were really thick and/or really dishonest.

That specific enough for you? Okay, now it's your turn to answer a this question with equal specificity:

Do you think it's okay to bribe elected officials, and for elected officials to accept bribes, as long as it produces a desirable result? That certainly seems to be what you're saying here?

But, there is no question about the premise of my question.

Don't try the old liberal general answer, we need specifics about this situation.....

Pedro bleated, Can you answer these simple questions?

I answered the question before you asked it. Once again, and do pay attention this time:

for education, against bribery.

Go on, Pedro -- demonstrate again that you don't grasp the idea that bribery is wrong, and using it for a good cause doedn't make it right. I'm planning to point to this thread next time someone tells me "Republican culture of corruption" is a talking point and not the most accurate description of you and yours yet.

Here's the question one more time, pedro. Fail to answer it and you're an official tool.

are you proud that under a Republican - dominated government it takes the shenanigans of a corrupt lobbyist and corrupt congressmen to build a school for the poor chippewa kids? You sound like you are.

Again, Pedro gets upset when someone else chimes in in a public forum. Just watch him flame me now for daring to speak.
They both answered your stupid question, now move on.

Hi Dan....

Speak when spoken to. Thanks for trying to make some sense of Zappa's non-responsiveness to a very simple question.

Now for you...So you are happy with the outcome of the Abramoff deal then? Yea! education for native americans! Right?

It's amazing how they hand it to you on a silver platter, some days.

Pedro, we're for education and against bribery. That this eludes you and other Republican poster children so utterly couldn't indict you more thoroughly if tried.

I think it was earlier drpedro when you asked if I was a Nazi and I said no.

next...

You made some incendiarly comments about education and I made a smart ass comment about education - then you spouted about how big your ball peen hammer is....and that is why we were talking about your education.

Why do we keep bringing up your profession? Maybe because you do it first. Constantly, and usually gratuitously (example: this thread). It's right there in your screen name, mrpedro.

Anyhow, I answered your idiot question twenty seven hours ago. Here:

We all want little chippewa kids to get a good education. Too bad that with Republicans in charge the only way they re going to get one is through bribery and corruption.

Now you get to answer mine:

are you proud that under a Republican - dominated government it takes the shenanigans of a corrupt lobbyist and corrupt congressmen to build a school for the poor chippewa kids? You sound like you are.

since my profession has so little relationship to the question at hand, WHY do you guys always bring it up? I have no doubt that "Dr. Wilbur" has degrees galore, and in this era of keeping up peoples "self-esteem", I am sure that 7-11 gives "slurpeeologist" degrees to frame", especially since everyone is now a "professional".....

But back to the original question....

Zappa says..."Why would I answer your stupid question again -"

Please point out where you, or any of your leftist collegues answered my question....

That is the problem with leftists, if we are all special, then no one is special , n est pas? If everyones opinion is equal , then no ones opinion really makes any difference.

W.S. Gilbert said it better: "If everyone is somebody then no one's anybody." But that has little to do with the topic at hand, which is the corruptness of a Republican lobbyist and of the Republican-dominated government he dealt with.

I have no disdain for education. I tolerably confident that I have as many degrees and credentials in my profession as you have in yours, "dr" pedro, but I don't go poncing about calling myself "dr" wilbur as if my diplomas mean something when I'm here debating politics. You have no clue about my curriculum vitae, just as I have no clue about Zappa's or Frank's or that of any of the regular posters here apart from you. Reason: you're the only one here trying to pretend that your years in medical school draining anal abcesses and practicing brain surgery on cats give you some special insight into international relations, nuclear engineering, constitutional law, etc.

Like I said: if you have to tell people how smart you are, you're not.

But back to the topic at hand: are you proud that under a Republican - dominated government it takes the shenanigans of a corrupt lobbyist and corrupt congressmen to build a school for the poor chippewa kids? You sound like you are.

Whatever dude -
I don't know who you are calling a communist - that is a stupid statement. I like how you put words in other peoples mouths and get all freaky.

It is FUNNY to me how people who do know anything about someone can make so many assumptions about them. You would think with a fine education you would be a bit smarter then that...

no bragging from me....he was wishing me good luck at education, I simply was explaining to him that in fact, I had one....

It is funny to me how people WITHOUT any sort of education are the one's most incensed by others education. And it seems like liberals are the worst.

Sort of a communism thing, we are all "equal" comrades eh?

That is the problem with leftists, "if we are all special, then no one is special", n'est pas? If everyones opinion is "equal", then no ones opinion really makes any difference. Me, if I hire someone for their expertise, I listen to them...whether they are a plumber or a neurosurgeon, and respect them for it as well.

Frank, I tell that to anyone I hear bragging about how much book-larnin they have, like Pedro here.

Thing is, it's usually conservatives I hear doing that nowadays.

They're the ones who sign every e-mail with a iist of their degrees, or include them in their screen names.

If you have to tell people how smart you are, you're not.

drpedro -

Why would I answer your stupid question again -
The point is that the Republican congress changed it's behaviour from pressure and bribes from Jack Abramahoff.
I know Dems do it too - I know - money in this example went somewhere - I know. It is still a shame that this republican congress is so easily bought and paid for. The republicans have used their power unwisely and hopefully come November will lose it. But go ahead - pick fights with random dudes on the internet, try to get under our skin - whatevers fine with me.

I have said it before - you will be on the wrong side of History here.

We all want little chippewa kids to get a good education. Too bad that with Republicans in charge the only way they're going to get one is through bribery and corruption.

But I hope I get a good education too, lord knows I have been trying long enough& high school, college, med school, double-boarded in a surgical specialty, you would think that SOME day I would learn something!

Some people could stay in school their whole lives and they'd never be anything but an educated fool. Education /= wisdom.
