And that is a great way to refuse to answer a question DPedro, I don’t accept the premise…

We all that agree that building needed schools for disadvantaged children – chippewa or otherwise – is a good thing in principle. Whether funding this particular school at this particular time is good is a question that could hinge on a lot of factors: maybe the navajo had a greater need for a new school, for instance, and because Abramoff got the funds diverted the Navajo had to go without. That would be bad.

But let’s assume that the chippewa school was the best possible expenditure of those funds. Even in that case, the method by which the funds were allegedly procured was evil and illegal. By criticizing the latter one is not criticizing the former.

An analogy: If John Gotti collects a million bucks in an extortion racket and gives half of it to St. Mary’s orphanage has Gotti done anything wrong? If you say yes, then I could demand to know what you’ve got against orphans – I could, that is, if I were really thick and/or really dishonest.

That specific enough for you? Okay, now it’s your turn to answer a this question with equal specificity:

Do you think it’s okay to bribe elected officials, and for elected officials to accept bribes, as long as it produces a desirable result? That certainly seems to be what you’re saying here?

But, there is no question about the premise of my question.

Go on, Pedro — demonstrate again that you don’t grasp the idea that bribery is wrong, and using it for a good cause doedn’t make it right. I have no disdain for education. I tolerably confident that I have as many degrees and credentials in my profession as you have in yours, “dr” pedro, but I don’t go poncing about calling myself “dr” wilbur as if my diplomas mean something when I’m here debating politics. You have no clue about my curriculum vitae, just as I have no clue about Zappa’s or Frank’s or that of any of the regular posters here apart from you. It is funny to me how people WITHOUT any sort of education are the one’s most incensed by others education. And it seems like liberals are the worst.

Why would I answer your stupid question again -
The point is that the Republican congress changed it’s behaviour from pressure and bribes from Jack Abramahoff.
I know Dems do it too – I know – money in this example went somewhere – I know. It is still a shame that this republican congress is so easily bought and paid for. The republicans have used their power unwisely and hopefully come November will lose it. But go ahead – pick fights with random dudes on the internet, try to get under our skin – whatevers fine with me.

But I hope I get a good education too, lord knows I have been trying long enough& high school, college, med school, double-boarded in a surgical specialty, you would think that SOME day I would learn something!
