There's a huge chasm separating "reading for insight" from "reading for comedy."

Just sayin'.

Why does a good Republican like me read Oliver Willis? Well, for one thing, is the only left-leaning blog I ve ever seen that features a permanent stable of right-wing commenters.

Oh, wait, did I plagiarize that?

Actually, I read The Liberal Avenger and OW because they have decent comments sections where people actually discuss things. Sites like The Daily Kos are so heavily trafficked and commented on that they become a cacophony.

Of course, one of my motivations is to get more readers for my own site; sometimes I reference back directly, and sometimes people simply follow the embedded link under my name. I've gotten more follow-backs from LA's site, but I've commented there more often as well. (Of course, the fact that neither LA nor my site requires registration to comment makes it a tad easier.)

Finally, I visit a few liberal sites because, while I certainly enjoy conservative sites like Patterico's Pontifications and Sister Toldjah, reading only that with which I usually agree is neither educational nor entertaining.

Congrats Oliver, although it's hardly surprising.
Yours is the only left-leaning blog I've ever seen that features a permanent stable of right-wing commenters. For those of us who grew up watching "The Muppet Show," Dugger, drpedro and Frank are the Waldorf and Statler to our Kermit, Fozzie and Gonzo.
