This seems like an excellent idea.

Alabama lawmakers are considering pardoning hundreds, possibly thousands, of people who were arrested decades ago for violating Alabama’s segregation laws.

    It’s interesting that this hasn’t been done sooner, especially considering the great lengths to which George Wallace went in order to earn the endorsement and forgiveness of civil rights leaders.

    This story has to be a mistake..They must mean have the arrest records
    ‘expunged’. These people can’t possibly still be serving sentences.
