Someone Explain This To Me
Tweet
For a long time now I’ve said that if Dems want to point out the differences between themselves and the GOP, at least legislatively, we should simply put bills on the floor and have them voted on. The Senate Dems put out this agenda but it doesn’t seem to have gone any further than a bunch of words on the screen. What’s the use of that? What’s the use of being U.S. senators if you’re not going to put out bills to be voted on? I remember once Reid saying something like it was part of Senate decorum, but we’re dealing with jackals without any sort of decorum here.
In the House, we now have almost the entire House Republican caucus on record as voting against port security, just weeks after the White House tried to hand over our ports to Dubai.
The way to do this is to put bills on the floor – puppies, yes or no? – and get them on the record with their opposition. Then come election time, the talk about what they stand for isn’t just abstract. You’ve got their vote.

We’ve got a majority of Democrats that believe more in “playing nice” than pushing forward a progressive agenda.
I still want to see how the Dems capitalize on the port controversy- I want to see midterm election commercials like the Republicans would put out-
“Rep. Neocon voted against protecting our ports against terrorism”.
“Rep. Neocon voted for al Queda, and against the security of Americans.
“Why does Rep. Neocon hate Americans?”
(Morph Rep. Neocon’s picture in shadow into OBL.)
Where are the specifics? You want votes on apple pie and motherhood.
(Then again, apple pie crust is laden with saturated fat and the mixture with sugar. Plus irresponsible motherhood leads to Malthusian nightmares.)
For instance: Why not very specifically tell the American people the hurt and sacrifice that illl be required for say energy independence by 2020? Or did Abramoff associate Reid merely neab the pathway to energy independence. H*ll, were there now. Thats just a looonnnggggg pathway.

The ads just kind of write themsleves, don’t they?
Yes, Duros, unfortunately we have the DNC writing the ads, I wish they would let the ads write themselves.
..if only I could get my Congressmen to support their own party..
Oliver, when you’re right, you’re right. Dems SHOULD be putting bills on the floor. First up should be Feingold’s pet project.
As I Republican, I would encourage my representative to vote “No” on puppies.
