It Couldn’t Happen To A Nicer Scumbag

Suddenly karma seems to be paying Katherine Harris a visit, and will help the already strong Sen. Bill Nelson (whose campaign slogan should simply be “I went to space, bitches”).

Already trying to avoid the media, Longboat Key Republican Katherine Harris is now canceling campaign stops in Southwest Florida as questions swirl about her ties to a Washington, D.C., defense contractor at the center of an ongoing national bribery scandal.

Harris, who is running for the U.S. Senate, abruptly canceled a stop in Charlotte County on Saturday, and four other events planned for Lee and Collier counties were removed from her campaign Web site.

It’s another sign that Harris’ struggling campaign is now in full crisis mode. Political consultants say that shying away from the public right now is also a bad strategy.

There are few politicos who are as much of a scumbag as Katherine Harris, here’s hoping she gets her rear end kicked.

    “bitches”???

    Very classy.

    Dugger,

You are, I take it, ignorant of the brilliant Dave Chapelle?

  3. Dugger says:

Since there was a question mark there Rheinhard, I know of Chappelle . I’ve seen him afew times on Comedy Channel. I believe use of the term ‘bitches’ when referrring to an oppositon female is inappropriate and tasteless, even if a popular comedian has a catch phrase to that effect.

    Just me.

    Dugger

  4. Rheinhard says:

Well, you can’t be as familiar with the Chapelle-ism usage then, or you’d be aware that the “bitches” in question refer NOT to the opponent, but rather to the speaker’s supporters and comrades-in arms, e.g., this post from Atrios some while back.

Although, given her propensity for disenfranchising thousands of innocent and law-abiding citizens and laughing about it afterward, Harris is more than deserving of the appellation “bitch” (and quite a bit more, IMO), the fact is that Oliver’s little joke simply doesn’t refer to her.

  5. Dugger says:

    Rheinhard,

“Although, given her propensity for disenfranchising thousands of innocent and law-abiding citizens and laughing about it afterward”

    Propensity??

    She’s done it many times?

    No hypberbole there.

And I still say the fact that a comedian uses a commonly understood harsh word for women (or blacks or jews etc) does not excuse it use when referring to a a similar person.

If by disenfranchising we mean purposefully denying someone legally eligible to vote, the right to vote , bet you can’t name one person she disenfranchised (given that that is her “PROPENSITY” – should be easy).

The likelihood of Katherine “I helped steal the Presidency” Harris defeating Bill Nelson for the Senate is about the same as President Bush dumping Laura and marrying Katherine. It ain’t never gonna happen, baby!!!!!!

  7. The “bitches” in question are the voters of Florida, and all voters in general (including myself).

Sometimes I forget I’m dealing with the idiotic here, or folks who haven’t turned on a tv since the transition to color.

  8. Dugger says:

And the names of those illegally disenfranchised by Katherine Harris are………….

Dugger , Been waiting by the keyboard since yesterday – need to take a break

  9. factcheck says:

The thousands of Florida voters that were improperly on the Choicepoint felons list.

Really people, is there really even a question that Bush was handed the election improperly? Hasn’t everyone figured that out yet by now? Other than radical right wing Bush-bots, that is?
