Look, I know the cult is currently in search of a new guru (him? or him?) as 43 slides into irrelevance, but
that’s no excuse for the cultists to get even loonier than usual. Case in point, Brent Bozell’s Newsbusters seems very upset that John Murtha was interviewed on CBS Evening News. Surely, this is the evil CBS once again flying their liberal colors high by interviewing only Murtha, and sharing his point of view with their viewers, right?
No, even Newsbuster’s resident bias pimpologists acknowledge that
After presenting the administration’s view that Iraq is not falling into civil war, CBS White House correspondent Jim Axelrod showcased how, over still shots of Murtha, in uniform, getting a medal and in Iraq: Democratic Congressman John Murtha, a former Marine colonel who’s among the most outspoken critics of the war, says the administration is misjudging.”
So you mean CBS gave the White House first say… then showcased an opposing viewpoint?
THOSE BASTARDS!
HOW DARE THEY!
DO THEY NOT UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE REALITY FORMED BY OUR DEAR LEADER?
HELTER SKELTER, MAN! HELTER FREAKING SKELTER!
I comment there all the time and am continually amazed that the blog of the largest, most well-known rightwing media “watchdog” is populated almost exclusively by an extreme, fundamentalist christian element. To me, even though it was started by fundies, it should have a much more diverse bent if it is the biggest of the conservative watchdogs. Of course, part of the problem is that the media (fox especially) give Bozell more attention than he diserves, thus boosting the site’s numbers, although the only people interested enough in what newsbusters says to comment are the radicals which make up MRC’s audience (and trolls like me).
Ask them what objective standards they use, they mock you and tell you to read the MRC website (which says nothing about objective standards). Ask them how they judge christophobia, which is a pet cause of theirs, only fueled on by fox, they say “any way they want to because liberals get to do the same with homophobia” (untrue, which further illustrates the point that they are purely religion and emotion driven).
The authors frequently respond to comments to their posts, which is nice, but they are frequently as ignorant as their commenters.
