I also find it interesting that Oliver has nothing to say about a behind-the-scenes take-down job engineered at the highest levels of Democrat leadership. After all, Hackett was a big favorite with liberal bloggers. The fact that <a href="http://motherjones.com/news/update/2006/02/hackett_drops_out.html" rel="nofollow">Mother Jones magazine</a> (not exactly a bastion of the vast right-wingnut conspiracy) had the moxy to report the story should also certainly count for something.
