Drinking Games For Cult Watchers

I was considering suggesting that folks take a swig of alcoholic beverage every time a member of the conservative cult suggests that its evidence of “liberal bias” when someone in the press does anything less than say “George Bush is the bestest president ever!”. But I figured the resulting rise in drunkenness wouldn’t be worth it.

Was it liberal bias when the press hammered Joe Lockhart on Lewinsky?

No, even the liberal press couldn’t ignore a sitting president scrogging an intern and lying to a federal judge, being impeached and subsequently disbarred.

I mean, these guys are biased, but not stupid….

  2. So if the press considered Clinton’s affair with his intern worthy of coverage (it was), there’s nothing wrong with them covering the story that Dick Cheney, the vice president of the United States, shot a 78 year old man in the face.

  3. rhys says:

Drunkeness would be the least of one’s problems. The number and rate of drinks required to keep up with the cult members screaming “liberal bias” would result in death from toxic levels of ethanol in the blood within 2 hours of starting the game.

  4. Cyberian says:

Dr. Pee once again drags Clinton in in typical wingnuttia obsessive-compulsive fashion. The Clenis rears its ugly head once again!

DO these guys EVER answer a question, or think of anything other than dissembling and deflecting blame, and have nothing to offer but accusations of hypocrisy and “but what about Johnny, Mommy? Why does HE get away with it?”

    1. Clinton lied to a FEderal judge about a PRIVATE matter, not about anything involving his job.

    2. His “scrogging” an intern is just such bullshit. Lewinsky was always ade to be a wide-eyed, doe-like defenseless little creature, not an adult making a choice about a consensual relationship. Fot a group that holds its hand over its heart and preaches to Blacks and the poor about “accountability”, that concept never made it to Dr. Pee, Coulter, Ingraham, Tripp, Starr, Levin, and all the rest of the voracious dung-beetles that feasted on the same muck they dragged the rest of the country through.

    3. He was impeached in the House, but declared INNOCENT in the Senate. He served out his term as President, a fact these numbskulls always leave out because it doesn;t fit intot he frame they built.

    4. He was SUSPENDED from the Bar in Arkansas because his enemies submitted and pressed several formal complaints against him, not because the Bar in Arkansas decided to do it on its own. And, in fact, as of this moment, WJC is now free and eligible to submit his application for reinstatement to practice law in the State of Arkansas as he pleases.

Dr. Pee, the load of anger and vicious hatred you carry? May it stay with you forever, and continuing to harden and wither your black and evil heart.

  5. drpedro says:

Cheney shooting someone is absolutely newsworthy. However, it could be done in a more professional fasion. No need to dress up in orange vests, no need to start conspiracy theories.

He didn’t “shoot someone in the face”, he accidently shot a member of his hunting party.

Cyberian, read the post. Who brought up lewinsky?

  6. AnalogKid says:

I love it when liberals, oops, I’m sorry, ‘progressives’ try to say that there is a right wing bias in the media. The only weak examples y’all can point to is the BJ in OO and talk show guests.

Whereas folks on the right have hard polling data showing a left wing bias in the reporters and editorial staff and a preponderance of news reports that clearly point to a left wing bias.

Just because someone isn’t as far left as you are, doen’t make them a ‘wingnut’. Also, You cannot show me one left wing reporter who has been disciplined for reporting a ‘right wing’ story that the ‘corporate owned’ media has told them not to report.

Try this on for size: Refusal to show the Mohammed cartoons, but running the Abu Ghraib pics. What kind of wus out is that.

Want a better example? Every single story major media outlet about firearms is run from the view point of and most even have quotes from The Brady Foundation and the Violence Policy Center (see the Cheney story as an fine example of that). The percentage of media reports that have pro-firearm quotes from the likes of the NRA or the GOA are so minimal as to be surprising when it is seen.

A recent poll came out showing that a majority of Americans think there are enough or too many gun control laws on the books.

    http://www.angus-reid.com/polls/index.cfm/fuseaction/viewItem/itemID/10932

Another one says that far more Republicans keep firearms in their homes than do Democrats.

    http://www.sciencedaily.com/upi/?feed=TopNews&article=UPI-1-20060216-20453300-bc-us-guns.xml

So it would go to figure that if there was a real ‘right-wing bias’ in the media, the Brady’s and the VPC’s would never be heard from again, since the majority of right wing readers could give less than a rats patootie what the criminal enablers think.

Try again, folks. You’ve got nothing. The number of right wing talk show guests come from the fact that it is hard to sell a show where the host and the guests always agree and the BJ in the OO is because sex sells ad space.

I’ll agree that the Cheney-Shot-A-Dude-In-The-Face-Gate is certainly an important story, as is really the whole Lewinsky affair. The relevant connection being how both are stories about multiple different and conflicting stories, when there is only one truth, which I think remains vague at the moment (and if I were an indecent man, I’d mention both involved shooting off onto the chest and face). My problem with the two is not that they were reported on, but the extent of it to the exclusion of other important stories.

    Hey southpaw….

I heard that cheney was really an alien invader from outerspace! He and his evil cohorts, the Trilateral Commission, want to turn the entire human race into cyborg slaves to work in a giant concentration camp making intergalactic Chicklets…..

But, shooosh, mums the word Ok?

  9. southpaw says:

I heard this morning that Cheney at first wanted to coverup the fact that he was the shooter. Maybe, just maybe, they wanted to wait to see if his friend was going to survive before rporting it to the press. Of course everyone knows that Cheney does not drink. That is according to Mary Matelan. She said Cheney was not drinking before the incident. And Cheney and his people were saying up until Wed that it was his friend’s fault. After Matelan met with Cheney before his interview with Brit Hume, then Cheney started admitting he was the one that pulled the trigger, so it was his fault (Cheney).

and the chest and the ear and neck and probably the deltoid, grazed the biceps, I hear has a piece in his trapezius….definately some in the pectoralis, peppered his sternocleidomastoid, and I am not even going to described the muscles of facial expression.

cellulose, you dumb as a rock….

  11. cellulose says:

“He didn t shoot someone in the face , he accidently shot a member of his hunting party.”

    You forgot “in the face.”

  12. Cyberian says:

    QUOTE:
“Also, You cannot show me one left wing reporter who has been disciplined for reporting a right wing story that the corporate owned media has told them not to report..”

I can show you David Gregory, who was made to apologize to the whole country by the corporate media today on “Press The Meat” for telling little Scotty McClellan to stop using his place on the podium to make personally denigrating remarks to reporters.

I can show you Dana Milbank from the Washington Post, who had a public spanking today from theWaPo’s ombudsperson for daring to go off the WaPo reservation and appeared on Olbermann’s show in Cheney orange.

    That’s just TODAY, you putz.

  13. southpaw says:

drpedo, whose fault was it that Whittington got shot in the face with a shotgun at close range?

  14. Dugger says:

    Cyberian,

Are we getting a little creative with the news? “made to apologize” ? Who says? Apologized yes. He acted in an arrogant and grossly rude fashion – typical liberal Wash pres corps. Interesting that you, a mere poster, know the inside scoop that he was made to apologize. Now the whole world knows it was a fake apology and meant nothing. So he really didn’t apologize – in your context. He just mouthed empty words. Now why would they (the leftist MSM) let the word leak out so easily that he was made to apologize. Why MSM bias, of course.

Dugger , Let me figure this stuff out for you

  15. southpaw says:

I am surprised that Cheney didn’t blame the accidental shooting on Clinton. The MSM would have a field day with that. Then all you paranoid neocons would be whining and crying about the left wing biased MSM trying to make Cheney look like an idiot.

  16. drpedro says:

southpaw you make a statement as if it were fact and then want me to respond, give me a break.

He wasn’t at “close range” and he wasn’t “shot in the face” .

  17. Frank_D says:

Here’s a drinking game for those of you who drink: Everyone time someone says “vice – president” and “shot” and “78 year old man” and “in the face” in one sentence, you have to take a drink. You should be drunk enough to drive off a bridge and allow a girl to drown in your car, while you swim to safety, and three decades in the Senate, in an hour or so.
