Well Put

August makes a good point about the right’s relative outrage regarding Osama vs. Ted Kennedy. Of course, this would deprive them of the Eternal Talking PointTM, so the dance continues.

Yes, so the reflexive response of the right with a 30+ year old crime/incident that resulted in nobody being charged to any sort of reporting of Republicans mishaps or misdeeds is purely coincidental. I have this bridge for sale…
I thought you were smarter than this, but apparently, you’re so willing to gain some kind of partisan advantage over anybody to the right of John Kerry, it’s not surprising that you attach a “Well put” to such intellectually dishonest dreck.
The obsession folks like Jay Caruso have with Ted Kennedy and Chappaquiddick is really disturbing to me.
Obsession? I’ve never even mentioned Chappaquiddick on my blog or really anywhere else for that matter. It was relevant to what people were discussing and I commented. Somehow, that equates to an ‘obsession.’
I have no idea what Kennedy “really” did: The incident happened twelve years before I was born.
What the hell does Pollacks birth date have to do with anything? What, you have to be born prior to an event to understand what really happened?
But unless I and every history book I’ve ever read is mistaken, Kennedy was never charged with murder.
Yes, and? A lot of people are never charged for crimes they’ve committed.
Now you can agree with that being “right” or not, but it seems quite pathetic that the right-wing response to actual crimes, or questions of possible criminal activity, or on some occasions mentioning the weather, is to declare that Kennedy’s a murderer, as if that’s anything other than a personal partisan opinion.
What “actual crimes” is Pollack talking about? I discussed Kennedy in context of what happened with Cheney over the weekend. No crime was committed. And unless Pollack forgets, Kopechne did drown. Kennedy did leave her there and failed to seek immediate help for her. Now, ‘murder’ may be a strong word, but writing off any declaration of his committing a crime as nothing but a “personal partisan opinion” is a steaming pile of BS.
And it’s a shame for the family of Mary Jo Kopechne that they have had to deal with their daughter’s corpse being used as a political “gotcha” point for 35 years
I’m sure Kopechne’s family is more concerned that there was never any justice for her aside from Kennedy receiving a summons for leaving the scene of an accident.
Let’s face it- if guys like Caruso put a fraction of the time they spent stalking Kennedy into asking why the President hasn’t caught bin Laden yet, an actual at-large murderer might be in prison right now.
Stalking Kennedy? That accusation right there totally discredits anything else Pollack has to say.
“Well put” my white ass.
Nice try Willis. The only reason I mentioned Kennedy was because of yours and others completely asinine attempts to try an turn a hunting ACCIDENT into another Watergate! Once you took it from a news item that would present comedians with a wealth of material to a political issue, your hypocrisy became relevant.
I’m surprised we haven’t heard any Vince Foster comments yet.
Yeah, because he’s talking about YOU and nobody else.
He was not charged with murder and OJ was not convicted of murder. So both must not have done a thing wrong.
That’s not my opinion, but it is certainly the opinion of you right wingers when the topic is Libby, Rove, Cheney and Jack Abramoff’s Republican rent-boys.
Wilbur,
Don’t know about Kennedy, but I betcha most left wingers even believe OJ did it. Some radical leftists might let him off via some kind of Kunstler-ian BS – but still believe he did it.
And, carrying through on your analogy, exactly what crimes have been adjudicated re Abramoff and Republicans?
