Hannitybot vs. Facts

In my experience with the right-wing, its clear to me that no right-wing media pundit (and there are tons of em) follows the RNC line to the degree that Sean Hannity does (he even narrated an RNC video in 2004). But being a kneejerk robot for the RNC sometimes does Sean badly. In this clip you can actually hear the rustling of the papers with his talking points, and when the guest shuts down the rhetoric by telling Sean that the data Al Gore cited was in an official DOJ report (”Spector general?” the bewildered Hannity asks), Sean does what all conservatives in the media do: he changes the topic and mumbles “You didn’t answer my question!”

UPDATE: The stupidity spreads as Wizbang makes Al Gore quoting a government report the same as Ann Coulter saying “raghead”.

Ollie you and your comrades just can’t handle actual facts.

He DID’NT answer the question! The question was “is it appropriate”…not is it accurate.

Some americans don’t believe it is appropriate for former heads of state to go overseas and bad mouth the country.

No leftist americans believe that, but most of the rest of us do.

  2. The “question” is ludicrous. It isn’t “badmouthing” to state a true fact contained in a government report. Using your argument it is “badmouthing” America if any one of our people went overseas and quoted a single less-than-flattering statistic from a government report. I’m more concerned with the people in charge like Bush, etc. who continue to give us material that smears the good name of America.

AL is a smart guy. He should be able to measure the reaction of

becoming a little too honest to keep the froth from foaming
over the conservative tidal basin and flooding the city with
    rancid waters.

  4. midderpidge says:

Here’s a better one, is it an appropriate question? Bush Zombies want to talk about the appropriateness of the question instead of the appropriateness of Bush’s actions. In their undead minds, it isn’t the US mistreating people that’s the problem, it’s the Americans saying that mistreatment is wrong that are the problem.

Oliver, I don’t see the outrage when Colmes repeats the DNC talking points he is given.

  6. Some americans don t believe it is appropriate for former heads of state to go overseas and bad mouth the country.

1979 – Iranian Hostages – October Surprise – Backdoor requests to hold the hostages thus undermining the Carter administration’s attempts through more diplomatic channels.

No problema. Wondered if there was a connection.

  8. cypher says:

drpedro, You have carefully told us that Al Qaeda reads the New York Times and listens to CNN and communicates to thousands of American Sleepers.

Is Al Gore really saying anything these people don’t already know and can’t read for themselves in their own papers and our government websites?

semanticleo: I had to google for animus…. never took latin before. thank you. q.

    “Some americans blah blah …”

Does anyone on the right have half a brain? The idiot from Wizbang writes this: “Given the choice of erring on the side of offending Arabs or erring on the side of reducing national security, the people of America would rather the former.” As if calling Muslims “ragheads,” torturing them, detaining them without due process, deporting them because of their ethnicity and generally belittling and bombing them is a great way to ensure national security. God forbid a prominent American should go abroad and try to undo the PR damage done by the Bush administration and its lunatic followers by assuring one of our supposed Arab allies that a majority of Americans understand the difference between racial fear mongering and constructive efforts to reduce and eliminate the threat of terrorism. Is it appropriate? Hell yes it is.

  10. JWG says:

I’d like to read the DOJ report. Is it online?

  11. factcheck says:

He didn’t badmouth America, he badmouthed Bush administration policy. The Bush administration is NOT America, as anyone who doesn’t think that Bush is king knows.

Hey WRHearst the second, stop with the yellow journalism.

Hannity didn’t change the subject…you did.

He asked a good question, is it appropriate for the former VP to go overseas and bad mouth this country. Some call it “airing dirty laundyr in public”.

It is bad for families, and it is bad for this country. How is it helping out situation to stand up and review a litany of complaints agaisnt us? Some are undoubtetly true, who in Saudi is going to help solve them?

This is nothing more than throwing gasoline on a fire in an attempt to subvert the bush administration….pure partisan politics that is a cheap attempt at a headline.

JWG, he’s probably talking about this report, although the interviewee says that it is 6/03, this report is 4/03.

Gawl, thanks for the laugh! You just described my reaction to most of the news during the 1990’s. Just substitute Clinton for Bush.

  15. JWG says:

JWG, he s probably talking about this report

    Thanks!

Tell you what, peed’. Take a crack at it. Imagine you have been invited to speak to our ally, Saudi Arabia. They express concern about the way Saudi citizens have been treated in after 9-11 and they want your opinion on why that’s happening.

Give ‘em an answer. Try not to send the price of gas over $5 a gallon.

  17. drpedro says:

    Here is my answer….

“The US has a policy of treating all prisoners according to our law. The american treatment of prisoners is substantially better than almost anywhere in the world. When mistreatment is alleged it is investigated and prosecuted.”

Now that actually ANSWERS the question, vs dragging the US through the mud.

  18. AlexCorrigan says:

Question 1: Did Al Gore tell a lie?

Question 2: If Al Gore was telling the truth, why should anyone be angry at Al Gore?

Question 3: Do the actions Al Gore described bother you more than Al Gore discussing them?

Question 4: What kind of a–hole are you if you answer “No” to number 3?

This is one of those threads where the moral filthiness of the Bush apologists is impossible to deny. Instead of criticizing the Bush administration for their poisonous behavior, these imperialist ass-suckers criticize Al Gore for speaking the truth.

Congratulations, sh-t-heads, you’ve got the gov’t you deserve. It’s a crying shame the decent people are stuck with it, too.

  19. Quaker in a Basement says:

Here’s another excerpt from Gore’s remarks, one that wingnuts like Hannity and his devoted followers don’t want to talk about:

On Iran, Gore complained of “endemic hyper-corruption” among Tehran’s religious and political elite and asked Arabs to take a stand against Iran’s nuclear program.

Iran says its program is for peaceful purposes but the United States and other Western countries suspect Tehran is trying to develop nuclear weapons.

“Is it only for the West to say this is dangerous?” Gore asked. “We should have more people in this region saying this is dangerous.”

  20. Quaker in a Basement says:

    Good job, ‘peed.

You just equated “Saudi citizens” with “prisoners.”

That oughta be good for at least four dollars a gallon. You win!
