I don’t believe that the Bush Administration was convinced that Hussein had WMDs, as evidenced by them not sending enough troops to secure suspected WMD sites or to secure the borders where looted WMDs and munitions would be smuggled out to later explode in DrPedro’s basement Sarin lab. Ahhhh! He’s a doctor who has too much knowledge about the manufacture of Sarin. Watch out liberals!

It’s funny, he posts here over 12-15 hours/day when there is a heated thread, but when his facts are challenged, all of a sudden he “doesn’t have time”. Interesting, that.

This was just plain egregious. I’ve never seen anything like that here or anywhere else, for that matter. I’m used to politicians and political hack bloggers/journalists lying because they seem to think they have a dog in the race. But never from a commentor on a blog, who really has no reason or incentive to be dishonest. I’m just confused at this point. Anyway, moving on.

I don’t have the time or interest to go back and do a point by point fisking…the entire free world believed that saddam had WMD’s, the security council voted to force saddam to live up to his end of he bargain, and because of his past use of WMD’s he was a threat to the US on a daily basis.

You are unfortunately inexorable linked to this issue, but in order for you to maintain a shred of credibility, things have to go badly in Iraq. They aren’t, and the lefties are getting nervous about it. I don’t blame you. I suspect that explains a lot of the ad hominem (Quakery smith? WTF?) and three-page posts.

I didn t say found, I said had the capability and known ability to make and use WMD s. Since you can make Sarin in your basement, with very little equipment, not finding industrial labs certainly doesn t mean they would not make and use the stuff, as the Kurds found out.
Then everyone can make it, and that nullifies Iraq being any more likely to make it than Mexico. As far as ‘the Kurds’, that was largely due to Bush 41 betraying them.
In any event, it is not a reason to attack Iraq, it was not a threat to the US, even if Saddam somehow miraculously was able to make any.
Do you f—ing get it? That tired BS is not a legal justification for attacking anyone, Iraq or anyone else.

Pedro, the article you cited had nothing to do with Saddam’s pre-war capabilites, so regardless of what reason you cited it for (although it’s obvious you posted it to rebut O-dub’s assertion that bush lied about having found WMD in 2003) it is irrelevant. I’m also not sure its a lie in the first place. The two pieces of data here don’t have the same denominator. He’s talking about current students graduating, she’s talking about all citizens. In the 1950s, there were a hell of a lot more graduates. That would seriously alter your statistics. I guess I’d feel better if there’s any sort of comparable data.

Oh and as long as we’re all pileing onto Pedro, I’d point out that a violation of a UN treaty means the UN can go to war, not a member nation.
