Don’t Take The Bait on Rove’s Caca

9:01 pm EST January 20th, 2006 | Politics | 20 Comments

Karl Rove is evidently out there, inbetween visits to his lawyer ensuring that his candy ass doesn’t get sent to jail (like the other corrupt member of the White House staff who has been arrested for perjury), making stuff up about Democrats in order to get Democrats angry at him. Don’t take the bait.

It’s time to stop taking the caca at face value and continue talking about what we want to talk about.

The war of words will be intense over the next couple years.
So sit tight mouseketeers and pray there is no terrorist attack
    here.

Aside from the risk to life and limb, there will be further
damage to civil rights, all in the name of the WOT.

    I, nonsequiturleo predict.

pedro, I was going to reply to your comment, but since its no longer there I guess it doesnt matter anyway.

Better OBL should “taunt us” then knock our buildings down.

The first victim of war is always Truth.

  6. Hedley says:

To be factually correct (as if), Libby was not arrested, he was indicted.

“Fitzgerald said Libby would not be arrested and refused to discuss any possible plea deal.”

You guys may get Zambo’ed if your not careful.

  8. They get beaten in the Alito hearings, and then OBL comes out on tape quoting stuff from KOS

Liberals are NOT the ones who’ve failed to capture Bin Laden. That dubious distinction goes to an entirely Republican administration.

    You support failure.

“Liberals are NOT the ones who ve failed to capture Bin Laden. That dubious distinction goes to an entirely Republican administration.”
Uh, Mr.Curmudgeon, can you please tell me how Bill Clinton and Sandy Berger captured OBL? Or are you saying that they didn’t try to capture OBL?
Ah, how simple the mental life a liberal must be — every problem the country and the world faces; terrorism, global warming, rogue stalinist and islamicist states with nukes, bird flue, even coal mine disasters – can instantly be layed at the feet of the republican party and GW Bush. No thought required.

    “But… but… but… Clinton!”

  11. stick says:

    elrod-
No, I’m saying that mr.curmudgeon made the sort of snarky, unattached-to-reality remark that passes for political discourse on the left today. I will happily agree to the statement that both the Clinton and Bush administrations have been equally unable to capture or kill Bin Laden. In Clinton’s case, however, no one on the left has said this was due to incompetence or corruption.

  12. elrod says:

    Stick,
Are you saying that both political parties are equally incompetent in the war on terror since neither has captured or killed Osama bin Laden? If so then you are neutralizing what Rove thinks is a signature Republican issue.

  13. SaveFarris says:

So when Libby is found Innocent, you’re going to retract this post, right?

  14. Semanticleo says:

Several democratic lawmakers admitted that, like Bob Ney,

    they like to play golf.

    TOTH to firedoglake.

  15. If Scooter Libby never serves a day in jail he still revealed the identity of a covert operative in order to score cheap political points. That’s what we call crooked behavior.

  16. drpedro says:

Ollie has taken to expunging my posts.

That of course is his right.

The funny thing is, he is particularly sensitive to the ones that suggest that most of the stuff he posts here is shameless toady’ing up to the democratic party, in hopes of a job in some future (FAR in the future I imagine) democratic administration.

I guess I am getting a little too close to home eh Ollie? Not all that happy to see your true motivations in print….you just want the Obermeisters in the Party to know that you are a good soldier and “on message”

    Kinda pathetic Ollie, kinda pathetic…..

  17. Wilbur says:

What’s really pathetic, Pedro, is a doctor of medicine spending hours a day commenting on someone else’s blog, then, instead of thanking the host for giving you the opportunity to express your opinion, you insult him gratuitously. Go play in traffic.

  18. Hedley says:

Revealing the identity of covert CIA operatives for political gain is something a Democrat would never do, right?

Sen. Torricelli (D-NJ) ring a bell?

  19. Mike says:

    Oliver says,

“If Scooter Libby never serves a day in jail he still revealed the identity of a covert operative in order to score cheap political points. That s what we call crooked behavior.”

Oliver, maybe when you get a moment, you should read the actual Libby indictment, instead of just the DNC talking points faxes.

Libby was indicted for perjury, because he allegedly gave the grand jury a false account of his conversations with reporters.

MSNBC News: “In his charges, Fitzgerald accused Libby of lying about his conversations with reporters, not outing a spy.”

He was never indicted for “revealing” or “leaking” anything.

Is it too painful to simply tell the truth about this incident?
