Flip Floppin’ Bob

Maryland Governor Bob Ehrlich is, at heart, a right-wing Republican. But Bob’s problem is that he’s the governor of Maryland, a center-left state that doesn’t much like right-wingery. So along comes an election year and Governor Bob is running like mad for the center on issues like stem cell research (he’s against funding it) and college tuition (he’s in favor of increasing it). I don’t think it’s gonna work

“Every election year, Bob Ehr lich is a moderate,” said Mayor Martin O’Malley, a Baltimore Democrat running for governor. “It’s when he’s governing that he follows the narrow-minded, weak-government, weak-America, every-person-for-themselves philosophy and governing style.”

Expect a similar run to the middle from right-wing Bush stooge Michael Steele.
