Watch Him Spin:

drpedro Says:

If that is in fact the case& .good. And it speaks even BETTER for Duke s character& ..

I suppose it's all relative. After all, Duke is a Republican.

dr.p. Stop! You re killing me! I m rolling on the floor and tears are streaming down my face. I m laughing so hard I can hardly see to type this. I mean honor and Duke Cunningham! The guy s in a position to take a deal for a 10-year prison top or else face life in prison for taking 2.4 million in bribes (as well as tax evasion) over a 10-year period or so. He takes the deal and he s a model of honorable behavior! My god you re a comic genius! Your work with irony and satire is positively Swiftian. I ve never seen such a cartoonish caricature of a right wing loon in print before. It s positively brilliant!

"See even when republicans are crooks they have more honor in their little fingers than the rest of the democratic party combined."

You've always been a hack Dr. but this statement, well, it's just too classic. "Our crooks are better than your crooks." Brilliant.

That explains why, during the long investigation into his misdealings, Cunningham repeatedly claimed he was innocent and let the investigation drag on. It was Cunningham's inherently strong, Republican character that allowed him to say AFTER he was busted:

"I publicly declared my innocence because I was not strong enough to face the truth," he said Monday. "So I misled my family, friends, staff, colleagues, the public, and even myself."
<a href="http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/11/28/cunningham/" rel="nofollow"><a href="http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/11/28/cunningham/" rel="nofollow">http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/11/28/cunningham/</a></a>

Yup, no stonewaller he. Cunningham even wore a wire for the FBI, presumably to help nudge the good consciences of all his Republican colleagues who were no doubt already on their way to the courthouse to confess.

I suppose that Bush, Rove, Libby, McClellan and Cheney were showing some of that stalwart character when they said nothing for over a year as Fizgerald looked into who leaked Valerie Plame's name even though, as we know now, they all knew who leaked her name and could have cleared up the mystery at any point.

And what of Jack Abramoff himself? Yup, as soon as an investigation opened inot is dealings his good Republican conscience compelled him to plead guily. Yup no need for a lengthy investigation there.

Indeed, neither Cunnigham, Abramoff, Bush, Libby, McClellan or Cheney ever bothered to "lawyer up" during these investigations, good clean conservatives that they are.

Damn Pedro you are a total hack moron.

No actually not. As you may recall, Duke Cunningham just threw himself on the mercy of the court and has been assisting prosecutors.

Clinton lawyered up and continued to lie everytime he move his mouth.
Remember the country going through impeachment? Remember Clinton being the ONLY POTUS in history to be disbarred.

Guilty, but stonewalled, vs standing up and doing the right thing. See even when republicans are crooks they have more honor in their little fingers than the rest of the democratic party combined

<i> The republican pleads guilty when confronted with the evidence, the democrat stonewalls. </i>

That is completely incorrect. When confronted with evidence the Democrat may stonewall, but the Republican gets out of it in themedia and the blogospherre by saying, "But Clinton lied about his relationship with Monica Lewinsy......"

You re an idiot = I really don t know what else to say

Exactly. I was rendered speechless. The good Dr. was saying that when they are charged with crimes Republicans are still better than Democrats charged with crimes. Could you think of a dumber, stupider, more "I wish I had my head up Tom Delay's ass but I don't have enough contribution money to make him bend over" comment? I couldn't, until you responded with your comforting words for the good Dr.

In other news: "Today, drpedro had to buy himself a Braille computer to continue smearing Democrats because it was getting difficult to see with the 40 foot wooden beam in his own eye".

Not one Democrat supporter here has defended the supposedly corrupt Dems that you list. We want the book thrown at them too if there is anything to the allegations. All corruption must be weeded out. Until you make the same committment for Republicans, kindly shut the hell up.

Let's see we have 5 no name democrats vs. the entire national Republican party structure, select republican state parties including Kentucky and Ohio, most of Bush's Iraq appointees, and the movers and shakers of President Bush's administration. Tough call.

dr.p. you really ought to go into standup. You missed your true calling. I mean comparing those 5 no name dems in East St. Louis to Abramoff, Delay and Cunningham et al, is truly hilarious. Seriously, it is truly hilarious. Keep up the good work. I know I for one can always use a good laugh.

<b>Democratic Culture of Corruption</b>

"A federal jury on Wednesday found five East St. Louis Democrats guilty of vote fraud.

The defendants were found guilty on all counts following a four-week trial in U.S. District Court in East St. Louis.

Four of the defendants -- Jessie Lewis, Sheila Thomas, Yvette Johnson and former city official Kelvin Ellis -- were found guilty of conspiracy to commit election fraud and election fraud.

Democratic Party boss and former City Councilman Charlie Powell was found guilty of one county of conspiracy to commit election fraud.

<a href="http://www.belleville.com/mld/belleville/12015710.htm" rel="nofollow"><a href="http://www.belleville.com/mld/belleville/12015710.htm" rel="nofollow">http://www.belleville.com/mld/belleville/12015710.htm</a></a>

Election fraud no less. Undermining the very system of government we live with.

Have they no shame these democrats. It is nothing less than a culture of corruption.....

And the democrats...? Continue to argue over the meaning of "is".

Let me sum up Kevin Drum

Bullsh*t

And my opinion is backed by as much fact as Kevin's

sundown, he plead guilty....but I was referring more to the current Jack A. scandal.

Jefferson is a good example though of the difference between a republican and democrat. The republican pleads guilty when confronted with the evidence, the democrat stonewalls.

I think Kevin Drum sums it up:

"Today's Republican entanglement with corporate lobbyists like Jack Abramoff is not an accident. It's not a matter of a few bad apples. And it's not something that happened gradually as Republicans got overly accustomed to power and lost their revolutionary zeal. It was a deliberate strategy, conceived by the leaders of the 1994 revolution as part of their fundamental governing strategy, and pursued relentlessly ever since."

You can pick out individual democrats who are corrupt or who have taken money illegally but Abramoff was part of a machine designed and built specifically to launder and funnel money into Republican hands. That's the biggest difference -- the organized nature of it all -- and why this is a Republican scandal.
