I disagree with the Panthers v. Giants pick. If anyone is over hyped, it’s the Giants. Don’t forget that they had an extra home game this year. Panthers are 6-2 on the road, which is pretty damn big. If I had to make a Superbowl guess, it would be the Steelers vs. ‘Skins.

The road to the Super Bowl goes through Indianapolis, and my Colts have bitch slapped the Steelers in our house, the Patriots in their house, the Bengals in their house, Jacksonville in both houses, and would have done so to Denver, given the opportunity.
Everybody else is simply fighting for a chance to lose to the Colts.
Two teams out of the wild card round? Just the wear and tear of an extra game makes that a long shot.
While I agree with all of the wild card picks, I don’t see anyone beating Indianapolis. Seattle is beatable, but with the NFL’s MVP, they should make it through the NFC.

As for my Big Blue: all along I’ve thought they were a year away from serious contention. What they’ve done this season is terrific, and if it ends on Sunday I won’t be too disappointed.
Brady carried New England on his back this year; if there’s any year he deserved the hype, this was it.

Yes, I know choosing two wildcards in the SB is a longshot, but I rather do that than pick two of the most obvious teams, Indy vs. Seattle. Indy has a record of choking the playoffs, anyways.
Of course, Jon Gruden has yet to lose a playoff game as coach of the Bucs.
If the Skins were healthy in the secondary, I’d probably pick them. As it were, if Reggie Brown can light that secondary up, imagine the kind of day Joey Galloway will have against it.

Ian – please explain how Indy has a record of choking in the playoffs. The only times we have lost in the playoffs, under Manning, have been on the road, when we were underdogs, to the eventual Super Bowl champs.

Losing to a team that is favored falls well outside the definition of choking. Losing on the road to a team that is favored falls well outside the definition of choking.
Losing twice to the same team in the playoffs like that is classic chokish behavior.

I have a vendetta against the Colts anyways, they are the reason why we have the Ravens :p
I’d also define a talented guy like Peyton not getting over the Pats as choking, much like I would define the performance of the Skins vs. Dallas up until this season as major league atomic chokage.
JD, that doesn’t mean it’s the only definition. I’d apply hype to that too. I’d be really surprised if the Colts beat the Pats — if they play each other.
Ian – I pray that we play them. Get them in our house this time. Were we to lose this time around, I would agree that it is a choke, since we are at home and will probably be slight favorites. Need I remind you of the bitch slapping we laid on them in Foxboro ?
