Let 2006 Be The Year Of The Rejection Of Caca

I’m going to harp on this issue until Democrats get it. So I’m going to be harping on it for a long time. There is a lot of work spent sitting around doing debunkery of right wing nonsense. Here on OW.Com you can expect with regularity for right wing posters to respond to what I write with unrelated nonsense with the consistency of trained gerbils. Too often people take the bait, because I think liberals like to show how smart they are.

Stop.

If someone is talking about George Bush possibly illegally spying on American citizens, then that’s what we’re talking about - not about the niggling details of what an aide for President Clinton or Carter may have said once. The right banks on dragging the left down into the morass because then they can claim the sort of phony baloney “balance” that has fueled such journalistic icons as Fox News.

If you’re talking about “X”, talk about “X” and don’t let them get away with it. Look at John Murtha. Murtha decided to speak about the problems in Iraq, and the White House choose to react by smearing Murtha and comparing him to Michael Moore. Now, Murtha could have reacted the way liberals always do and take each point the right brings up as if it had merit. But he didn’t. He did the smartest thing possible. He went right back to what he was talking about, as if what the cons had said didn’t matter. He was going to talk about the situation in Iraq and what to do about it, and that’s what he did, and it pushed the White House to actually talk about the issue rather than go to the same well they used in the ‘04 campaign. The current talk about what to do in Iraq bears a striking resemblance to what John Murtha’s been saying.

Learn from that.

Or worse, he could have recanted.

    Good one, Splitar!

Doesn’t “Sgt. Fury” Murtha look like Tip O’Neill?

And where’s he been lately? Dating Cindy Sheehan?
