And The Devil Shall Feast On Itself

Too funny.

House GOP Calls for DeLay Replacement

Embattled Rep. Tom DeLay’s hopes of reclaiming his post as House majority leader suffered a setback Friday as fellow Republicans called for new leadership in the midst of a congressional corruption scandal.

Days after lobbyist Jack Abramoff pleaded guilty in courtrooms in two cities, a pair of GOP lawmakers circulated a petition calling for elections to pick a permanent replacement for DeLay. The Texas lawmaker temporarily relinquished his leadership post last year following indictment on campaign finance charges in his home state.

Of course, Democrats were trendsetters in calling for the removal of Tom DeLay from the people’s House.

    Now comes the test.

Is there anyone who will rally to Mr. DeLay’s cause?

If they do, they reveal themselves as willing to forget their previous party rules and accept a leader who’s under indictment. If they don’t, they’re admitting they’ve been subservient to “the Hammer” against their own better judgment–until now.

    Rock, meet Hard Place.

I hope that DeLay can still prevail and hold onto his leadership — he’s a great American. Obviously his temporary replacement from Missouri is not measuring up. Not many men can walk in DeLay’s tassle loafers.

  3. drpedro says:

Not me, if he is under indictment there is no way he can be as powerful as he needs to be.

I agreed when he stepped down too, so I am not sure how I was “subservient”.

But you better hope he is convicted of something…..or the real rock and hard place will be all you moronic leftists who have left your very visible mark here in the blogosphere.

Oh noooooes! Pedro holds the fate of our very movement in his clammy little hands. Egads!

Anyhow, if he is convicted, then you’re a moron for having ever supported him, and your party is nothing more than a visible skid mark on our nation’s history. (Cunningham, Abramoff, DeLay, Frist, Rove, Libby, Ney, Scanlon=disgraced) Top officials in your party, all filth.

Who is more foolish? The fool or the fool that follows him?

I suspect as the answer becomes more apparent to you, we’ll begin to see what you GOP’ers are really like as you experience the last throes of Conservatism in modern America.

All I know is that this better result in real reform and not some band-aid
    designed to pacify the public.

What is needed is a good colonic, (epsom salts works) and the
will to carry it out without allowing amendments to water it down.

Fashion a whip made of rope and drive the money-changers
    out of the Temple!

  6. Ryland says:

Wait, are we talking about the same Republicans who tried to change the rules to allow a majority leader to retain his position even when under indictment? Yeah, I’m sure we can trust them for more than a band-aid.

If there’s a colonic coming, it’ll be the mid-term elections.

  7. dugger1 says:

Delay is the victim of a vicious, unprincipled partisan Democratic prosecutor. I think the Republicans should not be backing away. By doing so they reward Democratic partisan thuggery of the worst kind. Liberals hate all things Republican and anyone who disagrees with them. Any Republican who thinks Democrats or Big Media will now ‘like’ them because of this farce is sadly mistaken.

    Dugger

  8. Semanticleo says:

Methinks the dugman pulls on the playful strings of life.

  9. drpedro says:

That may be the case dugger, but I think he needs to prove that in court now. And if it is true, it will be the smackdown of all time…but at this point he has been lawfully indicted and now needs to clear his name.

  10. buma says:

Man, what dugger1 said! Better satire than my post above. Undoubtedly each and every other Repuplican pol being investigated in DC, Ohio, California, etc may well be victim of Democratic thuggery too. Those Dems purposely put themselves in the minority in the three branches of government just to attack more stealthily. Curses!
