Mooning deemed ‘disgusting’ but legal in Md.

Acquitting a Germantown man who exposed his buttocks during an argument with a neighbor, a Montgomery County Circuit Court judge ruled yesterday that mooning, while distasteful, is not illegal in Maryland.

“If exposure of half of the buttock constituted indecent exposure, any woman wearing a thong at the beach at Ocean City would be guilty,” Judge John W. Debelius III said after the bench trial, reversing the ruling of a District Court judge.

    What part of the beach in Ocean City does this judge go to?

    My parents live in Ocean City, MD and i can honestly say that i’ve never seen a woman in a thong on the beach between 120th and 135th st.

    Maybe some pretty revealing bikinis, but never a flat-out thong.

    I did some mooning occasionally when I was about 17, but mooning a neighbor, and her daughter, at age 44?

    The Judge is an idiot. The guy wasn’t wearing a thong at the beach; he pulled his pants down in front of a little girl! If it’s not against the law then it ought to be…

    And if they can’t figure out how to pass a law against it, you know what I would do if ever I faced Judge John W. Debelius III? Guess!
