It says he was offered the job. Nowhere does it say he accepted.

  2. The Concordian says:

Wiseass-itude notwithstanding, you can’t prejudge the guy on the basis of his being offered a job. If you’re walking through a bad part of town and a the corner crack dealer offers you a rock, should we have you arrested for possession?

  3. Quaker in a Basement says:

Well, yeah. Foreign governments are all the time just calling me up outta the blue to offer me top-level jobs.

I’m sure Don was totally caught off guard.

  4. The Concordian says:

Indeed Oliver…don’t you think you’re maybe jumping the gun a little? The guy hasn’t taken or rejected the job.

    From the same article:

Rosneft is preparing for an initial public offering sometime in 2006. Kommersant reported that Evans was being courted to signal the company’s commitment to good management practices.

You don’t suppose that that could be why they offered him the job? Nah.

Sen Joe McCarthy and General Jack D Ripper would be proud.

Dugger ” I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, Communist subversion and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids. “
