Need more rhys? How about criminal investigations into leaking -

As a result of their revelations to the public and the press, three U.S. Senators -- Sens. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.), who's also the ranking Dem on the Senate Intelligence Committee, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) -- are the subject of a "criminal referral" made on Monday for speaking publicly about this satellite. Such referrals are made to the Justice Department by the administration when criminal conduct is suspected. In this case, it's not only suspected, it's evidenced on the front pages of the New York Times and the Washington Post. A highly reliable intelligence community source told me that the referral had been made because senior administration officials were beside themselves that the three had taken the controversy on funding this project to the press.

I'm a liberal and I'll say this clearly--I'd rather the whole damn mess get cleaned up, even if Dorgan, Reid, or any other Democrat gets pulled down with it.

The only morally defensible position regarding the Abramoff and Scanlon case is consistency.

Yes randy, because a list with two Democrats on it is equivalent to another list with over 50 Republicans! That proves that both parties are equally corrupt. Or not.

I wonder when Dorgan and Reid will be brought up on ethics violations -

"A lawyer for the Louisiana Coushatta Indians told The Associated Press that Abramoff instructed the tribe to send $5,000 to Sen. Byron Dorgan's political group just three weeks after the North Dakota Democrat urged fellow senators to fund a tribal school program Abramoff's clients wanted to use."

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051129/ap_on_go_ot/tribes_letters___donations;_ylt=AkWtW226cIEmMAzqzel7JnayFz4D;_ylu=X3oDMTA5aHJvMDdwBHNlYwN5bmNhdA--

"Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada sent a letter to Norton on March 5, 2002, that also was signed by Sen. John Ensign (news, bio, voting record), R-Nev. The next day, the Coushattas issued a $5,000 check to Reid's tax-exempt political group, the Searchlight Leadership Fund. A second tribe represented by Abramoff sent an additional $5,000 to Reid's group. Reid ultimately received more than $66,000 in Abramoff-related donations between 2001 and 2004."

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051117/ap_on_go_co/tribes_letters___dollars
