    Heartbreaker.
Oliver Willis quips I hate football .

It must be frustrating. As my Colts have lost several big games in the past, I can sympathize.

Yeah, they lost several big ones this season ….

  4. BRIDGES says:

I assume the Capitals are out, then?

  5. Frank_D says:

I’m sure the Nationals will start winning with new ownership

  6. doug r says:

Well the Seahawks won, which makes me happy. At least they beat the Giants….

  7. JD says:

Ian, you are correct, the Colts have not lost any big ones, or little ones, this season. Tomorrow night should be another good test. Beating New England and Cincinnati on the road were nice, but it will be more fun to win a big one, convincingly, at home.

  8. James E. Powell says:

The football gods, having given the ‘Skins three, count ‘em three! chances to win the game, withdrew their favor.

Three missed kicks that cost the team a game can lead to the waiver wire.

  9. buma says:

Hey they have good company there in last place (although the Redskins would actually win the tie-breaker at this point): My Iggles.

  10. ian says:

James you’re absolutely correct. Gibbs plays conservative throughout the whole game and decides to get liberal at the end. It’s like he’s trying to train his players not to do as good as they can.

Tonight’s game is probably one of the best MNFs we have had in a long time.

  11. madape says:

Just wait until dubya starts showing his face in a Cowboy luxury box during the playoffs. Then you’ll really need some counseling.

  12. Ed Drone says:

Well, the Nationals had some good games this year, till key injuries hurt ‘em, but even if they were winning every game, it wouldn’t help you at all during football season.

The Caps are pathetic this year. Shows that some teams get more than a little rusty with a prolonged layoff (it hasn’t hurt some other hockey teams that there was no season last year, but the Caps look like they’re still in tryout-camp mode).

You need for the Wizards to kick it into gear. They’ve had some good games, including the double-overtime win the other evening, but blow the easier ones far too often to “count.” I’m afraid you’ll have to suffer along with the rest of us.

    Sigh.

I hate the Chargers. I hate the Chiefs. I hate the Raiders. Yeah, I’m a Denver Bronco fan. Nice to see the AFC West as the best division in football at this point:

    Denver: 9-2
    SD: 7-4
    KC: 7-4
    Oak: 4-7

The only other division to come close – the NFC South – has Carolina in front at 8-3 (and the Saints worse than the Raiders at 3-8). In games between AFC West and non-AFC West teams, the AFC West teams’ records are:

    Broncos: 6-2
    Chargers: 5-3
    Chiefs: 5-2
    Raiders: 4-3

So is it any wonder that the Redskins have now lost all four games against the AFC West?

  14. JD says:

    elrod,

If we my Colts are fortunate, we will draw the Broncos in the playoffs again. The last couple of years have been fun with them in town :-)

  15. KevinA says:

I’d say I feel for you, but since the Chargers have lost all 4 of their games by a grand total of 12 points [two game ending FG's by Denver and Pittsburgh, a blocked FG returned for a TD at Philly, and their inability to score with first and goal and time running out against Dallas] I’d be lying.

Some of the games the Chargers lost they deserved to win, this one the won they deserved to lose…

When the Redskins were winning earlier in the season I seem to remember some major gloating coming from this blog. Fair-weather fan.
