Responding To Bush’s Tirades

So it’s clear these little childish speeches from Bush are going to continue. He’s got to give some red meat to the base (you can practically hear Michelle Malkin cooing) while his poll numbers continue to take a dive, after all. Now, I know there’s always a strong desire on the left to debunk these mewlings simply because they’re so packed to the gills with falsehoods. But frankly, that’s no good. The media won’t ever debunk him, because they’re whipped little ninnies who fear the big bad GOP attack machine.

The only way to fight back is to just keep repeating what’s true. The President misled America into war with Iraq, and has no plan to succeed in Iraq. Just do what they always do for us. Leave the fact-based rebuttals to the research kids, but as far as public relations go — just deride his little play-act tirades and get back on message. He’s unworthy of the office – it’s time to treat him like it.

>> There are comparisons of this to the White House’s ill-fated flailing on social security. We won that one, we can win this – and there’s more at stake. Also, just add this sort of attack to one of the fun things its now okay to do as president once we finally get a Dem back in the White House (there’s tons of new stuff we get to do, I’ll write up a list one of these days).

You are kind of right about the social security similarity. The Democrats plan on Iraq is “we hate George Bush” while their program for social security is “we hate George Bush.”

    Dugger

  2. No, Dugger, the social security plan was “we don’t want to privatize and destroy it”. America agreed.

  3. SaveFarris says:

He’s right Dugger. The Dem’s Social Security plan was “Let’s wait 20 years and let the system destroy itself.”

    This is winning? -

Economists delivered today warning of fiscal doomsday because of baby boomers retiring, which will cause Medicare and Social Security spending to increase to an unsustainable level.

    Hi Oliver,

In your view, how did the President misled America into war with Iraq?

While I do not believe that was the case, I question a plan to succeed in Iraq was put in place.

    Thanks.

More on winning by not doing anything -

Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid constitute more than 40 percent of federal spending. Given the baby boom, longer life expectancies and rising health care costs, these programs are projected (by the Congressional Budget Office and others) to grow by about two-thirds or more during the next 25 years. To cover these costs, we’d have to do one of the following: Raise all federal taxes by 30 to 50 percent (depending on whether today’s budget were balanced); eliminate defense spending and 30 percent of other federal spending, excluding interest payments; run budget deficits three times present levels.”
