I know its probably something that will fly under the table, but last time I checked this sort of opposition research doesn’t have any place on the White House web site. It’s all well and good for that kind of thing to go on GOP.com, but we aren’t paying the Bushies tax payer dollars to investigate Sen. Kennedy’s votes. At least we shouldn’t be.

OW–
You have stumbled onto a pseudo White House web site. This confusion is all part of Karl Rove’s ‘Hit Back’ strategy.
The correct site is http://www.whitehouse.org/
Who cares? I’m Sicilian. We don’t whine or cry “foul”, we get even– as gleefully maliciously as possible.
I want to see every Democratic Senator and Representative using their taxpayer-funded website for oppo-research and anti-Bush propoganda. One’s an outrage, two’s a party. Now. Gloves off.
Shrub wants to play rough? Great, well fuck them. Let’s do it!
I did some quick math, and I figure that your share of this extravagant enterprise was about $.18

Right, Frank_D, if it were a GOP site outraged over this because a Democrat did it, I’m sure you’d just shrug and say, “Oh, $.18, that’s OK then.”
Yeah, riiight…
By your reckoning, the Republicans have caused hundreds of thousands of needless deaths, but this> is important…
Shorter Frank: this small abuse of power is insignificant in comparison to Bush’s enormous, catastrophic abuses of power.
I’ll buy that.
See what happens when you point out the internal and fundamental inconsistencies of a Democrat? Heaven forbid that somebody ask one of the most shrill and partisan Democrats in Washington to even be in the ballpark of consistent.

Oliver - This is silly… I’m sure you’ll have a post out shortly about Harry Reid’s use of his government funded site for this partisan attack against Bush’s Veteran’s Day Speech. Or this partisan attack calling for Cheney to clean house.
Or Nancy Pelosi’s partisan statement attacking the failure of the House to pass the budget resolution.
And besides, I don’t think you can seriously make the claim that a Senator’s public statements and votes should be considered “opposition research.” Now, if they had hosted Kennedy’s bar bill from the local strip club on the White House website, perhaps you’d have a case… Nor can you seriously object to the White House providing the text of a newspaper article in one of the nations leading newspapers… seriously…
