Are They Joking? Really?

Are Republicans really trying to spin Mike Bloomberg’s win last night as a Republican win? Michael Bloomberg is more liberal than I am.

Hedley, pro-choice, pro-gay rights Guliani is a pretty liberal Republican as well. See a pattern?

It’s a Republican win when you have Clinton campaigning for and supporting Freddy Ferrer and Giulian campaigning for and supporting Bloomberg.

Truly you are correct re Bloomberg. And truly the same principle applies re Kaine. To use your analogy: the Va. election was between two pro gun Republicans. One just had D in front of his name.

Seriously. The story here is simply that New Yorkers want a strong Democrat (Bloomberg) over a weak Democrat (Ferrer). Now, if the race had been Bloomberg against a strong Democrat, there would have been a contest.

Even better, if the race had been Bloomberg against a strong Democrat who was in touch with real people (a la Spitzer/Dean/Obama) there would have been no contest - Bloomberg would have lost. I hope the local Dems get the message before 2009.

But yeah, if a real Republican had been in the runnings he or she would have been soundly rejected.

    Dugger,

Kaine is pro 2nd amendment, but on most every other issue is to the left of Warner. And certainly far to the left on any current Republicans in VA

    ewk,

On what issues is Kaine to the left of Warner? And do you disagree that Warner is a now A Democratic frontrunner?

    Jadegold,

    So tedious.

    Not quite.

The NRA actively campaigned against Kaine and supported the slimebag Kilgore.

    The NRA and Kilgore lost.

You hate that I’m always correct, Dugger.

Really, it would help if you did just a smidgen of research before just making stuff up.

On the other hand, it would be worth Democrats remembering that Bloomberg is the man who illegally arrested protesters, challenged Gay marriage, didn t support Emergency contraception, steals private property for private gain and expected New Yorkers to bankroll his dreams of a stadium in his name…

Tim Kaine was to the left of Gov. Warner on many issues, especially the death penalty. But they both believe in common sense economic policies, and thats why the people of Virginia voted for them both.

    JadeGold,

I have never known you to be correct about anything. I remember you claiming Plame’s name was a big secret. And if you told me the sun rises in the east, I would expect the earth to pivot on its axis and the sun begin to rise in the west. I’m sorry, but about evreything you ‘contribute’ sounds like it was written by an unemployed Maoist speechwriter. Humorless, strident, always insulting - never any give and take.

    OK, that does it.

There must be two Duggers posting here. That’s the only way to explain it. There’s no way that the same person who wrote this:

I think it unfortunate to put it mildly, that the left seems to treat every terroist incident as first and foremost a political weapon tio use against George Bush. And since Bush-hate seems to be the number one factor in the lives of so many leftists, one is not surprised by the almost seeming glee that greets every terrorist attack.

    could have also posted this:

evreything you contribute sounds like it was written by an unemployed Maoist speechwriter. Humorless, strident, always insulting - never any give and take.

The weight of the irony would crush anyone who tried.

And within 6 minutes of each other!

    Zowie!

Ah, but the same crappy spelling and typos are in both.
