The NRA actively campaigned against Kaine and supported the slimebag Kilgore.

The NRA and Kilgore lost.

On what issues is Kaine to the left of Warner? And do you disagree that Warner is a now A Democratic frontrunner?

Kaine is pro 2nd amendment, but on most every other issue is to the left of Warner. And certainly far to the left on any current Republicans in VA

Even better, if the race had been Bloomberg against a strong Democrat who was in touch with real people (a la Spitzer/Dean/Obama) there would have been no contest - Bloomberg would have lost. I hope the local Dems get the message before 2009.

But yeah, if a real Republican had been in the runnings he or she would have been soundly rejected.
